And of course, while not technically IRL, there are the Zoom chats with Jim, Onyabirri, Bill and others. No scandals so far, at least not in the ones I've hosted. Would have loved to meet these guys IRL; same with frequent Zoom participant Alan (Falkirkbairn). We've interacted so many times over the years, I feel like we've practically met IRL. But we haven't.

There was a bit of scandal the night you disappeared to the toilet and never reappeared, leaving us all worried what had happened to you!

And yes always good to see Alan on there, haven't heard from him in a long time so hope he's well.

Thomas, Alan is "alive" and "well" and "living real life" on "Facebook", where he posts photographs of "wild birds" and "hot air balloons".

Thor and Thomas, you may remember when Mrs. Phelps stopped by to say hello and Pawel asked us to visit Poland! Then Thomas said, "Can Mrs. Phelps stay and you leave the Zoom?"

The best, however, was when Thomas' daughter appeared in shot and your wife assured everyone that your child was beautiful because she took after her and not you!

Brutal, beautiful times. LOL

I do indeed remember Mrs Phelps popping in, and I stand by my commentbig grin

My wife always said during our zoom calls that "you lot are very noisy whatever it is you bang on about!"

Your "Apocalypse Now" remark after seeing I had a slow-moving ceiling fan *still* makes me laugh whenever I need a boost. That joke of yours is probably one of the few things keeping me alive.

Don't let Thomas' posts fool you, my fellow FSMers, he's got a great sense of humor. wink

That sense of humour only appears after 6 cans of ye olde Carlsberg Jimbo!

Like all true boozers, our Thomas appears more sober the more he drinks.

Speaking of Carlsberg, do you have their glass with the "bubble preserving" technology that keeps the foamy head from dissipating? It really works!

If you hang with Jim Phelps, you're legally required to begin with: "Good evening, Mr. Phelps, this meeting will self destruct in five minutes."

My attorney is working on making that a reality. wink

Actually, Thor and Carson were quite complimentary and kind whenever I joined a meeting of theirs. I always had a great time. I did get the sense that a few FSMers didn't like me, if you can believe that. wink

Never did do a Woolston Zoom; not my crowd.

You may have given him an impossible mission.

His posts gives off Stalinist, "I know everything" vibe.

TallGuy twice - once in Newcastle, another in London (also with David). One of my favourite people.

Astonishingly kind of you to say, Thor, on the basis of a couple of meetings, and reciprocated. I’d love to add to that.

My older daughter and her other half are currently in Tromsø after a few days in Oslo and Bergen. She was appalled at how small the aircraft was to fly them there - and propellers! - but the pictures she’s sent us are so spectacular that Mrs TG is now pining for the fjords. There may well be a trip Scandi-side in the offing before too long.

Oh, the list of FSMers I've ALREADY hung out with has become long over the years. Just using whoever's posted in this thread as an example, there are a few:

Met drivingmissday in Los Angeles during his film score shindig in 2012 (at Morricone's place -- the board member, not the composer).

...and it took a trip to L.A. to meet one of the few Swedes on this board, namely me.

Agreed, it would be fun to meet up with everyone from those Zoom chats in real life. Lots of fond memories from the chats. I also appreciated the excuse to crack a beer at noon my time. wink

Keep "listing your credits" and everyone's going to think you're an actor! smile

Bill Carson? Not possible. It was probably an A.I. deepfake you were talking to. smile

I have to wonder if the OP intended us to include Zooms. I mean, how difficult is it to point and click? Hauling my bloated carcass across the pond took effort!

Beware of imposters with the same name.

Bill was great. It was like hearing Michael Caine from GET CARTER, but I dug his participation. Shame he didn't tune in for further Cheers Zoom chats. I think it was the alcohol.

Hope your daughter had a great time in Tromsø, TallGuy. I've been there every year for more than a decade, for the film festival in January, but that time has passed. Amazingly, I've never seen northern lights. Irritates me.

I almost met Josh in San Diego, but that somehow fell through. Can't remember why. I think he hated me at the time. wink

Ha! I do vaguely recall that, Thor (10+ years ago?), but for the record, although your incessant anti-C&C rants did get annoying after a while (thank the soundtrack gods you've dialed back on that), I've always liked you and would love to toss back a few dozen beers with you someday.

You must go at the wrong time of year - this was on their first night in Tromsø!
