I hope Eye of the Devil comes from a better print, or that some restorative work was done, because the print used on the DVD didn't look great in a few bits. For the most part, it was okay, but a few bits not.

I’m guessing that Mary Stevens, MD (which I had never heard of before) was fast tracked primarily for archival purposes, which is probably how we’ve ended up with titles like Kentucky Kernels and even Canary Row (I’ve over at HTF that the negative was in bad shape before the Blu-ray) getting released through the Archive.

It steams me that Warner originally gave us a DVD of both VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED and CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED on a single disc. Now, on blu-ray, which could EASILY fit both films on a single disc, they force us to buy two discs, the greedy bastards.

So far, for December, the Archive will be releasing Angels with Dirty Faces and Ivanhoe. Really looking forward to seeing what the Archive has done for Ivanhoe, which was a favorite of mine growing up.

In the below podcast, George Feltenstein confirmed that Ivanhoe and Angels with Dirty Faces will be the last Archive releases for the year, among other interesting factoids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwWZk3b8eK4

Ha, a bit late with the news John, that lot was announced a month ago, but it's good to have all the specs up. I had an email today saying that Angels With Dirty Faces was on its way across the pond to me, & just maybe I'll get Ivanhoe for Christmas (but that's a long shot). It seems to me that there's only a few posters interested in the release of old (catalogue) movies here, odd, seeing as this is a film score site. For me, the money I used to spend on importing soundtrack CDs I now spend on Blu-ray movies. Yes I find it extremely weird that so many on the General forum can be enthusiastic about a film score but have no interest in wanting to see the actual film. It makes no sense to me. I wouldn't be interested in film music if first and foremost I wasn't enthusiastic about films. Film music is part and parcel of the film. In fact, anyone seriously interested in the art of film music, would surely want to see how the music fits and plays in the film itself.
