Please note "Potato chips"/"Croustilles" in the bottom right corner of the bag. Try as they may, Quebecers still cling to chips rather than croustilles, and no amount of Orwellian doublespeak will put an end to that.

"There are only four lights!" dixit Picard.

Will these abominations be available outside Quebec? I'd risk them once.

I have no idea. Which part of Canada are you in?

Speaking of abominations, the geniuses at Lay's have also come up with "Montreal Poutine"* flavor as well.
Make of that what you will.

* Simulated flavor/Saveur simulée.

The best crisps I've had in recent weeks are Roast Duck and Hoisin Sauce flavour Pringles. Couldn't stop eating 'em 'till they were gone.https://www.pringles.com/uk/products/rice/rice-peking-duck-with-hoisin-sauce-160g.html

In the US, we have "kettle chips." Would the UK equivalent--if applicable--be called "kettle crisps"?

https://www.thekitchn.com/whats-the-deal-with-kettle-chi-115818

They taste nice but they're so greasy on fingers that traveling down your throat is best kept limited. Unless Kettle bake the crisps they're called chips in the UK too.

Greasy? I thought most Brits would have buttered their kettle chips/crisps.

Saskatchewan. I'll check the supermarket I'm in after. I may have to simulate finding them though if they're not about.

I'm in for poutine in any form.

I'm actually English but have lived here 12 years. Warlok also lives in town but the last few times I've only seen him right in the distance on the street.

I think I have to have poutine for lunch now. Then hit the shops for poutine crisps!

I never knew the Brits had a TV show about motorcycle cops named "Crisps".

Close enough. I've spoke with the chairman of the membership committee and he gave you the green light. You're in as an honorary Canuck. Gotta swell the ranks don't you know.

Sort of feel like having poutine myself now.

Noice! I've mates holidaying in Montreal and about Quebec next week, so I've put my crisps order in if I can't get them here.

Never knew the term canuck, even though my sister has lived in Canada since 1965, and I've visited since '73.

I noticed years ago from visiting Greece and Spain, like we Brits do for actual summer holidays, that 'Lays' have the same logo as our 'Walkers'. Obviously Lays must be the parent company. Mmm. Interesting.

Nice that they have flavours tailored to each country. Would be interesting to see whether some flavours are simply labelled differently in each of those countries. I have a theory that after what we in the UK regard 'classic' flavours: plain, cheese and onion, beef, and salt and vinegar, most other flavours are simply savoury but but are not that distinctive.

Jamon (ham) and Paprika flavour are very big in Spain.
I know this from personal experience.
There's always a big bag of either, residing in my hotel or apartment room, during my stays there.

I’ve got a very soft spot for Seabrooks. They have strong and authentic flavours and the crisps themselves have a subtlety that makes them very moreish.

They have an interesting history - the founder was one Charles Brook of Bradford, who established a fish & chip shop which he called Seabrooks (C Brook’s, geddit?) and diversified into making crisps.

Yes, I've noticed paprika is very popular in Spain when I've been out there on me hols. And they are usually big bags. We usually take one to the beach and share a large sandwich and one of those. Always makes me laugh when many Brits buy small bags of imported Walkers at a similar price because otherwise they're got going to get any for two whole weeks!

Now Seabrooks are ok, but I find I get used to 'em too quickly and get fed up. At one of my local pubs they always had Walkers, but when they switched the Beef and Onion flavour to Steak and Onion that few liked (though they've either come back permanently or occasionally in their 'limited edition' drives), they stocked up on Seabrooks Beefy instead. Everyone was happy but I got fed up of them very quickly.

Such is life lol.

I'd like to point out that despite my enjoyment of the things I don't eat THAT many. But I can't resist new flavours. As a kid I always preferred crisps and associated crispy snacks to sweets. A lot of 'gourmet' varieties have sprung up recently, bit more expensive together with attempts by some companies trying the 'rustic' homemade tactic. Hence flavours like Yorkshire Crisps' Cheddar Cheese and Caramelised Onion, instead of good old Cheese and Onion.

But they do a nice Henderson's Relish flavour. To the international poster, Henderson's is our own local brand of Worcester Sauce type relish, produced in Sheffield in the same little red brick building since it started for over a hundred years until 2013.

I reckon you and TG like 'em because they're crinkle cut....

They even brought back the old 'salt n shake' variety (plain crisps, with a sachet of salt you can add yourself) for nostalgia purposes.
Recently, I bought a multi pack bag of six plain crisps, with various sachets of flavours contained in the main bag.
Sachets like Garlic, Tomato, Cheese, Steak, Chicken, Lemon, Sage & Onion, Paprika, that you can mix and match yourself. I had fun with that. Carole just looked at me with that 'there's no hope' face smile
