I'm still on a big Sovietwave and Ploho kick. The latter have some catchy riffs, and of course I have no idea as to what they're banging on about, though I get the distinct impression they're "somewhat less than happy."
"Youth"
So many of these so-called Russian "Doomer" groups sound like "The Children of Joy Division and early New Order." It's gratifying to know my side won the battle of influence.
Ploho continues to play in the background as I drone through yet another(!) day. I love these guys! Russian Doomer Music also has a dystopian aesthetic that I enjoy.
Viktor Uzhakov, Ploho’s lead singer, bears a striking resemblance to Swedish footballer and all-around humble guy, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Oooh, I like the “space exploration” motif of that Rick Wakeman album! It looks like it would fit in nicely with my current “outer space music” directive!
Bits of the the opening track of this album was used as the theme for one of Norway's most famous television series of all time, about a trio of brothers called Brødrene Dal (the Dal Brothers). It's so ingrained in every single Norwegian my age, yet is totally unknown to all of you. Fascinating.
The only Norwegian TV Series I think I've seen was that recent State of Happiness (or Lykkeland) about the oil in Stavanger. That was a fantastic show.

I saw one episode of that. The composer of that show is a friend of mine, but he doesn't like to release soundtracks. To my chagrin.
