Think about it Andrew. A draw will guarantee Chelsea finish top 4 regardless of the other game's result.

Yup. They daren't lose, or get into the mindset of 'a draw's enough'... Wolves will punish them. Either way it's going to be interesting on Sunday, as will what happens at the bottom of the table.

So Bill, you can at last stop with all the gloom & doom stuff, you're safe...for this season anyway.

Doom and gloom? Thats just 55 years of being a fan of a huge club who are a perpetually struggling side who cud fk up a 4 nil lead.
And i still hate footballers.

Yeah and you have that Intertoto Cup of about 20 years ago to prove it. You can chat with Newcastle supporters about that piece of recent silverwarebig grin

Watched the Barnsley game. Blimey, they left it late. Also, they were the better team. How were they bottom of the divison until 3 minutes before the season ended? West Brom match was decent too. They had a rough wait after the match ended to see what went on. Shame for Wigan getting relegated. but they may yet still be saved as two other teams might be entering administration. When are the EFL going to admit they're fucking useless and directly responsible for all of this. They allow unfit owners, don't check, let them get away scot free, then punish the remains of whatever club is left behind. Scumbags.

I have news I thought I would share with my friends on the thread. We had a web conference call with our senior manager today, and he informed us that working from home will be it from now on. Never again will we be required to go into the office or be there every day, every week. That's it. Finished. Working from home for the rest of my career. I'm a bit surprised, I thought they would want us back at some stage but apparently not. We can go into the office for a day or two if we want a change of scenery but we have to give notice and get permission!

That's a bit mad. How do you feel about that? I know some people prefer the office.

I'm not sure to be honest. The plus side I don't have to commute and get the poxy train every day. Hated that. But I will miss the social aspect, and seeing the attractive women in our officebig grin

Freelancing sucks. There's not enough work and only myself to look. The worst.

I was having exactly this conversation with pals yesterday. Moves that were initially necessary will become the new norm. For too long firms were suspicious of home working and thought people wud be on golf course, but theyve made so many advances with home-access systems that employers know how long u been logged in, how nany emails sent, etc. Plus they realised why pay 2m quid a year for offices when thats wasted profit. Plus they find people log on longer n it offers flexibility. And people also suddenly have 2 more hours a day to do jobs, go for a run, sleep, walk dog etc. It might mean money saved will be passed onto wages because profits greater, less overheads.
This in turn will free people to live anywhere, not so close to cities. It will also help environment because many less people wont be commuting.

Im not quite sure wot other knock on effects there will be. Overall it makes us interact less, but thomas u need to do zoom calls with the sexy women coz u miss seeing them!

Personally i wouldve loved it. Can work listening to music on speakers not headphones. Plus can take a break when u like. Plus much more flexibility, home for deliveries, can bring rubbish bin in, added security someone at home all day etc

Working from home (as I currently do) is possible for those who, like me, are one of the desk jockeys. But spare a thought for those for whom working from home isn't possible - NHS hospital workers; drivers; cleaners; engineers; etc. Some of those jobs may go in the long run due to A.I. taking over, but that's some time away yet.

After tomoz do we start the other already used football thread and take this one behind a shed and shoot it in the face or what?

Apparently League 2 kick off in September, i think the 21st. Capacity may be at 33%.

Be mad to see if any other clubs go under, like Bury did. Very rough times for the small clubs.

It's a shame FIFA, the non-profit organisation, can't just help out every team on the planet with a few quid.

They must have a bit more funds than usual with all the kickbacks from okaying Qatar as a world cup destination.

Sadly, that'll probably be a massive success after the world is starved for football after so long, when everyone should actually boycott the thing.

I'm at a mates who has DAZN, and they play a short series of Gary Neville interviews with various footballers - LeTiz, Ian Wright, Shearer, Gerrard, etc... and go through a few of their memorable matches. Neville I really like as a pundit and interviewer. These are easy watch interviews and pretty amusing to watch.

I didn't realise Burnley had done well - a win will give them their best Prem points total ever. They have 15 clean sheets, and Wood has 13 goeals, which isn't bad.

Ings has been on fire for Southampton, 21 in such a middling side is great. Glad he's enjoyed a great season personally.

Wot, is football still on? Thought it finished with Leeds being crowned champions. Nothing significant could happen after that.

The best games are yet to come League One and League Two play-offs - they're usually ace!
