These are brilliantly designed and packaged.

Solium, they got them in Wal-Mart -- can't say about other grocery stores.

I remember when General Mills first came out with Cocoa Puffs, they were made with Hershey's chocolate, and even promoted it on the front of the box.

sounds gross. frown

Almost as bad as peanut butter and chocolate cereal.

But Chocolate Cheerios are almost just as bad.

Sometimes hiding on end caps and not necessarily on the isle with the rest of the cereals.

I know it's not a monster cereal, but I'd like to put in a word for Quisp.
That was my favorite creature cereal - sort of a disc-shaped Captain Crunch thing.

I completely forgot about this commercial and cereal until you mentioned it.

I loved Count Chocula.
When I was a kid my Mom used it as a reward to us.
She would buy it and then stash it somewhere.
I'd usually find it and reduce it by a small amount every couple of days.
Eventually my conscience kicked in and I stopped sneaking it.
But by then I was getting old enough to buy it with my own money when I really wanted it.
I haven't had it in ages--probably because my subconscious still perceives it as a form of currency!

These days I try to stick to generic raisin bran or the like.
But once in a while I will get a hankering for some garbage cereal and that's when I'll grab a box of Reese's Puffs or Capt. Crunch.
The inevitable remorse that comes right afterwards usually snaps me back in line to the raisin bran (which, in all likelihood, ain't much healthier!).

But once in a while I will get a hankering for some garbage cereal...

Gee that's funny. I've never seen garbage eat garbage before!

wink

Sorry, still having thoughts of SUPERMAN II...

Hi, Ock. Glad you took it as the joke I meant it as. So soon after the Great Superman II debate (and talk of the bullying scene in particular), I just couldn't resist...!!

We've gone from Capt. Crunch (My all time favorite!) to Generic Raisin Brand. We're not showing our age at all!
(Been there, done that)

Don't EVER resist making a joke.
Ever.
This goes for everyone here.

Capt. Crunch does not taste like it did about two decades ago, at least the peanut butter flavor. When it comes to peanut butter-flavored cereal, Reese Puffs is still king. Put some skim milk in that, oh yeah.

Also favorites: Honey Oh's (it's a brand, usually just one row on a shelf at Wal-Mart), Multi Grain Cheerios, Corn Pops, the cheap-tasting Wal-Mart brand corn flakes (also softer than the Kellogg's name brand. Just get a spoon of peanut butter, ram it in there, then eat it together). Off hand.

I still love Capt. Crunch though I hardly ever eat sugary cereal nowadays because it upsets my stomach.

I love it too, but my problem is, it tears up the insides of my mouth. That stuff stays hard and sharp, no matter how much milk you pour on it... frown

I take hard cereals and ground them up into a loose powder, since my lack of teeth and broken teeth don't allow for normal eating. Just eat it with a spoon that way.

That reminds me of what I used to do with salt & vinegar chips when I was a kid.
I'd pour the whole bag into mom's grinder, put it in a bowl, douse it with more vinegar, then ate it with a spoon.
Nowadays just reading that back to myself makes my gut twitch!

Being a (sometime) Star Wars collector, these remind me of a *real* cereal which came out circa 1983; "C-3POs". It was basically a Cap'n Crunch-style cereal in a blue box with C-3PO's picture on the front, and a Star Wars character cut-out mask on the back. I still have a folded-down empty box somewhere out in the garage (complete with Luke Skywalker mask intact on the back).

So these presumably-fictional cereals pictured above aren't that far off the mark... smile
