Many AMC theaters are still open, and have been for 6 weeks. If a lot of Covid cases were traced to them, you'd think we would have heard about it by now. Regal theaters closed down again, not because of any Covid concerns, but because they couldn't get any films to show. Yeah, I hear that's the case in the UK. The cinemas are feeling very let down by the lack of big films to show. I can understand the big studios not wanting to release their big budget films, as they'll never get their money back right now. The new Bond film, No Time To Die, has an estimated budget of $250,000,000, they won't get much of that back right now.

Everybody who loves film has a deepening and greatening yearning for new film. Isolation, close-downs. If they released film in all assorted media (theaters, discs, online) I think they'd be fine. We like film. We'll find a way to watch, and we'll pay to do so.
