I really enjoyed SOLO too. Best of the new spin-off Star Wars films. I think PASSION TOO should be re-written more like a revenge flick. Like John Wick maybe?...'They Thought HE Was Dead...But Jesus, Are They Gonna Learn All About Payback!

In the absence of actual thumbs...
This gets 2 thumbs up.
Three if you include the one next to my name at the top of this post.
I took issue with the "brilliant" part. You can love the film all you want. It could tick all the right check boxes for you. But objectively it's not a brilliant film. There's nothing brilliant about it.
I personally found it dank, boring, woke, un-engaging mess. It was a bomb. It will never make its money back. Loved the score though and Emilia Clarke is nice window dressing.

If you're going to be a crotchety old racist dude whos angry that they're going to be dead sooner rather than later, you can come out and just say it instead of wasting your time typing up reply after reply of the same thing.

"Objectively"....really? Who are you, the new Dan Hobgood?
God, you're a hoot.
Sorry, I don't know who Dan Hobgood is...
Making a claim something is "brilliant" requires some evidential analysis. How does it stand up to other classic films? By what standards are you calling it brilliant? The script and acting are average at best. I didn't see any character development or outstanding performances. The cinematography and special effects were actually below average for a major franchise film. The CGI and cinematography were muddy and out of focus. The editing was abrupt and jarring, probably because they had to cobble two incomplete films into one.

You must be real fun at parties.
I don't attend KKK rallies for the same reason
You should, you'd fit right in with your superiority complex.

It doesn't, really. It's a pure evaluative adjective, along with good, great, wonderful, superb etc. But if you're geuinely interested in why I think it's a BRILLIANT film, click on the earlier link I provided, and run it through Google Translate.
But pleaseā¦.stop this nonsense about objective truths in subjective evaluations.
