Actually Mitch, Spain is actually "quite big" when you're at ground level. I'm in the extreme northwest corner, Cádiz is way south. It's 588 miles by road from my house to Cádiz. It's slightly more from John O'Groats to Land's End (874 miles) admittedly. But both are long journeys. The reason I "got" the Italian one was that I was there (I mean, right there where your picture was took) last December, whereas I've never been to Cádiz.

smile ... Graham, I should have added one of these smile I did think you might reply something along the lines of: Have you looked at a map ... there's a whole other country between me and Cádiz ... but your J O'G ~ LE makes the point very well.

We're not location seekers but travelled to Cádiz from Conil de la Frontera (beautiful) ... a longer drive than I'd expected. The weather wasn't great that day and we were surprised at just how busy the city was, struggling to find somewhere to park. I was aware that the JB007 adventure had been filmed there (I recall reading they suffered poor weather, too, and rushed to get the scenes filmed when the weather improved) but it was only when looking at the building Castillo de Santa Catalina that the thought struck me. I checked afterwards to confirm.

As for Schloss Adler ~ Festung Hohenwerfen, Burgstraße 2, 5450 Werfen, Austria: this was a poor weather day (August!) so we drove from Saltzburg to see the place and was struck by the lack of any reference, whatsoever, to the film. Having been used as a police training centre it now displays historical artefacts and falconry events. Again, very busy and we were lucky to get a parking place.

We've been to Rome a few times. On the first occasion I drove my RH drive car into the city ... with one of our Italian cousins as my front seat passenger - he's probaly never been so scared and has yet to recover! We've not been in December, always May - August when it's hot. Given the recent passing of our wonderful composer I thought the picture would generate interest.

Cheers ...
