There's
Goldsmith, Goldenberg, Gold
And
Edelman, Elfman, Eidelman
Plus
Rosenman,Rose, Rosenthal

So.many similar names
Can't recall them all

Shouldn't this post be in the "Actors (or composers) you mix in a blender" thread?

The Original Limerick Thread,
Started by Tall Guy, now dead.

In Heaven or Hell,
No one can tell,

But I assure you that he is well fed.

In the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald: The rumors of its demise are exaggerated! smile

Chris and Bruce
Are on.the loose
Pinching rhymes from Mother Goose
One's a Tall Guy
The other's a Small Fry
It all makes sense, just
Don't ask me ' why?"

Don't mourn the old limerick thread.
It is missing, presumed to be dead.
Forget it; it's gone
It's time to move on
And think up some new ones instead.

dtw, you wrote a perfect limerick. Good advice too. Once the search engine is fixed, perhaps a new limerick thread should be started.

For my limerick thread I would scour
This message board, had I the power
Not for my stuff, because
That’s not much of a loss
But it might be dear CAT’s finest hour

Ahh, TG, you are breaking my heart. Yes, CAT was splendid, and so was your limerick.

For what it's worth, yesterday I called up the list of all the topics TG has ever posted in.
There was something like 70 pages of topics, and I went through the 1st 20.
After that I could not see very well.

Does anyone know how many pages that thread was, roughly?

It was many pages, couldn’t put a number on it. Your devotion to this task is noted, and the world thanks you for your efforts. I seem to recall doing the same thing, looking at thread titles and going cross-eyed with the effort.

It threw up some interesting and amusing threads, though...

I just tried the Wayback Machine and got a goose egg.

I did save 3 of my 4 submissions to TG's thread.

"Tall Guy's thread. Barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic thread. Tall Guy will be that thread. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster."

I've started re-constructing my old limericks from that thread.

So should we re-build it here?

Or ask TG to start a new thread?

I'm too distraught about the old thread to start a new one. We all agree that the old one existed, so it MUST be somewhere...

I live in hope that it'll turn up.

I started a limerick thread
Stupid verse that came into my head
I hope it's okay
Even though MIA
I refuse to believe that it's dead.

Once again TG responds with a fun limerick.

I kind of vote for TG starting a new limerick thread IF the old one can't ever be resurrected. Let's give this a little more time. Maybe with some of the current changes in this board, we will find the old one.

I think we should give it a time limit, then get back up on that horse!

I'm reconstructing my old ones (I think I improved my one about TallGuy!) and writing more. I'll save them up until the day comes.

Never thought of it that way. Hope it’s gone forever, then!
