blue15, I've always liked that song You Can Have Her.

Oct., thanks for posting the Moody Blues' rendition. I've never heard it before, and I do like it, but I like Warlow's version better because his voice is so perfect. The song really does fit into a sports context. I can hear it being used in the Olympics.

I've had this on repeat at various times during the day -- Tay Salem's "Threads" -- seemed appropriate to post in The "Song of the Day" Thread...

He's got a great voice IMHO.

The Warlow version is quite nice, indeed.
It's a very difficult song to sing.
I can even spare some props to Hasselhoff for tackling it.

Here is my favorite version of this 1963 song. I especially like Marc Shaiman's orchestrations and counterpoint theme he introduces near the end of the song.

Of course, whenever I wave my credit card at my hubby and announce I'm going shopping, I sing this song to him. wink

The above song was recently performed on The Voice, and this version is amazing.

Streisand: The Places You Find Love
Uplifting and exuberant.
It won't get out of my head today.

Great thread, Jim, thanks!

I was vacationing at the beach (Navarre, Florida) all last week, and this one always plays in my head (in a good way, melodic, yet somewhat melancholy) when I'm at the beach.

From his 1978 debut solo album, Rick Wright's "Waves".

Good one, Jack!

Oh no! Now it's stuck in MY head.
Curses!

This is stuck in my head.

But it's not this version.

It's the one Robert Farnon arranged for Pia Zadora. Who knew Pia Zadora could make me forget the Liza Minnelli version??

You, Twin Bro, knocked the Zadora out of my head and replaced it with this, perhaps the only Streisand song that is high on my list of favorites.

(Although Nelson Riddle is the one who really hit it out of the park for me, here, not her.)

David, the song MAYBE THIS TIME is one of my favorite songs. Have heard a Zadora version; however, Kristin Chenowith performed it on Glee and did a fine job, and it is on youtube. Thanks for posting this.

One of our fellow holidaymakers last week was saying that one of the castors on his suitcase had sheered off on the way through the airport. All week I had “Three Wheels on My Wagon” running through my head.

Since that last three songs posted, I've had problems with this one topic and only this topic. I keep having to click on "recover webpage." Am I the only one?
