And the Mai-Kai? Local tourist trap. You realize that it is the last surviving of the grand Polynesian restaurant palaces of the 20th Century? And until the cocktail revival, it was the last place on earth that served rum drinks with authentic Don the Beachcomber/Trader Vic recipes. Hardly a tourist trap. OK, OK, I'll be nice. I haven't been back -- and don't want to anymore -- to Ft. Lauderdale since '08. Maybe they've fixed it up some. Doesn't matter anyway, with global warming and rising oceans, the entire place will be underwater in a few decades. And wait until the big hurricane hits. That's what finally did the place in for me, that hurricane back in '05. Plus the area I lived was N.E. Ft. Lauderdale, and it's all getting too gentrified and the traffic! Oh, the traffic! Only thing worse down there -- Miami. Now, I live in North Carolina -- with the hillbillies and their bathroom issues. What a country!
