British actor Jack Hedley is 90. Mainly remembered for Colonel Preston in the BBC's Colditz TV series, but you might remember him getting gunned down on his boat in For Your Eyes Only!
Indeed. With Norman Lloyd's passing earlier this year (at 106), he's one of the oldest out there. But I don't think anyone can beat the late Portuguese arthouse director Manoel de Oliveira, as mentioned previously. He passed away in 2015, age 106, but he was ACTIVE up almost untill the very end. I'll say that again -- he was ACTIVE as a filmmaker up untill his mid 100s!

Actually, Broadway director George Abbott (1887-1995) beat that mark by a year as he was still actively involved in theater right up to the end at age 107, even being consulted on the 1994 Broadway revival of "Damn Yankees" (and I saw a production of "Damn Yankees" he directed at age 99).
At this point, I can't name anyone other than June Lockhart (the 1938 "A Christmas Carol") who is still with us and appeared in a notable movie made in the 1930s.

Not film, strictly speaking, but wow. Yeah, that's impressive too!

Alas, died earlier this month at 92. I’ll remember him as the most unlikely NYPD detective lieutenant ever in New York Ripper.

Just had a look. Only just being reported in the last few hours, despite passing on Dec 11.
Upon the death of Olivia de Havilland in 2020, Saint became both the oldest living and earliest surviving Academy Award winner and one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema.

Speaking of Nehemiah, I've been watching old episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents this month - including an episode first aired in January 1960 entitled "The Cure." It starred Persoff, Cara Williams (who died earlier this month) and Peter Mark Richman (who died earlier this year). I challenge any TV archivist out there to find a longer-lived cast of an episode from that time.

I always found her captivating.
Interestingly, both Eva Marie Saint and Nehemiah Persoff were in "On The Waterfront" (Persoff plays the cab driver in the "I could've been a contender" scene with Marlon Brando and Rod Steiger).
