Angry farmer is yelling at his daughter, trying to find out which traveller put his daughter up the duff. There's a knock at the farmhouse door. Terry Scott: "Good evening sir, i was wondering if i could have some milk?" Farmer: "Milk, is it?!" Terry Scott: "i came here once before, you know" Farmer: "oh, you did, eh?" Terry Scott: "But you werent here. Just the young lady. And she gave me a bit." Farmer: "Oh, she did, did she?" Terry Scott: "Yes and it was very nice, too. That's why Ive come back for some more." Farmer: "By gum, you've got a nerve!!" Terry scott: "Ohh dont misunderstand me, im quite willing to pay for it this time." Farmer (reaching for shotgun): "I'll kill you!!!!" Farmer shoots Terry Scott up the arse with buckshot as hes running up the path LOL and to think it followed: Farmer: "Never mind. Just get out and don't come back!" Hawtrey: "OK. I'm sorry to have knocked you up." Farmer: "Is that meant to be funny?!" Hawtrey: "No, why?" Farmer: "Because it was a tramp like you that got her into trouble!" Hawtrey: "Oh you don't say. Nothing serious I hope?" Farmer: "GET OUT!"

Yes, that was the scene with Hawtrey at the farmhouse the scene before Terry Scott arrives so it was a nice build up.

Im sure at the beginning of the show, she stopped on steps, put her leg out and ran her hand up her stocking and caught the main character checking her out. Im sure it was in opening credits. It was a comedy, so not zcars. Its 1 of those mad snippets of memory that cud even have been another similar actress but im sure it was her, with the flared nostrils! THE FUZZ? You know what zardoz, i think we might have a winner, despite my dodgy memory, which means it was Linda Bellingham, so i was way wrong. Couldnt find any youtube clips to verify the opening of the show.

Of course this couldn't be any decade other than the 70s could it? The end of the Carry Ons drifted into the Confessions films, and if they weren't already porn, the next step has to be the genuine porn articles of the Mary Millington kind, Come Play With Me and Playbirds, the latter actually being the title of a porn rag. Even in my mid to late teens, a reasonably understandable age at which such stuff did obviously appeal, I do also remember thinking it was pretty sad to see genuine showbiz casts filling these movies. A bit like blagging your way in to see these films (and the, ok we.. kids at school did) and seeing your mother in the audience. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I also used to find it slightly amusing that Linda Bellingham (you lot beat me to it guessing it to be her in Bill's memory, understandable as that is!) became the real mumsy face of the Oxo ads when all I could think of was her frolicking in these films. And you can see why Robin Askwith predecessors in the casting queue for his er.. part such as Richards Beckinsale and O'Sullivan turned it down. Of course the Hammer horrors were going the same way. I look at those later Tudor Gates films, such as Twins of Evil which is fairly good, and see the pink typeface and it almost says: porn! When you think of the early Hammer horrors that almost have a classic Hollywood period look, and then see the stuff at the end of the company's output that look so tacky, it's like 'what went wrong?'. Oh well, times change...

When I think of those Confessions films, I think of Linda Hayden, god she was lovely, & happily still with us & married with two children, well I wouldn't think they're children any more. When I think of Linda Hayden I think of Blood on Satan's Claw. It was an eye opener! Grandma was asleep in her chair on a Friday night stop-over and I was praying she wouldn't wake up until it finished.... lol. There's a saying in the Uk it would go something like "she's got some front"....ha, ha. That would have been the least she'd have said.

Sid James: "Did you say you have been married before?" Peter Butterworth: "That's right. Twice." Sid James: "Your wives....dead?" Peter Butterworth: "That's right. First wife died from eating mushrooms." Sid James: "I see..." Peter Butterworth: "Second wife died from a fractured skull.." Sid James: "Fractured skull? How did that happen?" Peter Butterworth: "...Wouldnt eat the mushrooms...!" - Carry on loving, 1970

What about Hammer comedies? I'm thinking of trying movies like Up the Creek with Peter Sellers and Carry On Chaps, its title later changed to Don't Panic, Chaps so as not to get confused with the Carry On franchise!

Good stuff Howard Lemmon. Im sure most of them are 'findable' that way. They are pretty much feel good movies, even if some are funnier than others.
