There are some very funny dimwitted and memorable male TV stars.

My favorites are:

Ted from the Mary Tyler Moore show.

PC Joe Penhale from Doc. Martin.

Reverend Jim Ignatwoski from Taxi.

Joey from Friends.

Barney from the very old Andy Griffith show.

Woody from Cheers.

Others?

Thanks Joan for the equal opportunity Dimwit Post!

You are welcome, zooba. I was just going to add Sergeant Schultz, but Bob beat me to it.

I recognize most of the actors listed so far.

Seems like some of our most endearing TV characters are pretty dimwitted.
