I just got my Deluxe Edition, and Disc 4 is a duplicate of Disc 2. But even worse, I cannot rip my CDs into iTunes properly because there is no disc information. No titles; not track names; just "Track 1" and "Track 2" etcetera. Anyone else have this (mis-)information on their CDs? I get that a lot with new CDs. You can either wait for somebody to populate it or enter the track names manually and submit disc info to iTunes. I use EAC to rip so it happens more frequently. But at least with EAC, you can copy the track names from a website and paste from the clipboard. The information has been submitted to CDDB / Gracenote. I don't know how long it takes for it to get settled into the system fully but when it does then the track names should show up when programs ask if you want to get them. The discs do have CD-Text on them and here is a script that reads that data on Apple devices: https://dougscripts.com/itunes/2023/11/updated-cd-text-to-cd-info-v6-3/

By all means we need some human behavior asserted with so much AI hovering around. Even errors have a silver lining because it's a reminder that we're not machines and not perfect. They're a nuisance and so we fix them, smile and be grateful we can connect as people while doing so.

My copy arrived. I'm in the UK and ordered it from Amazon UK. My CD4 seems to be correct. Cheers

My Super Deluxe Set is confirmed to arrive from Amazon tomorrow. I am worried. No need. A) You'll be helpful to the conversation. B) You'll have a Blu-Ray to hear the material in high res. C) You'll have plenty to read while we get things taken care of.

I just got my Deluxe Edition, and Disc 4 is a duplicate of Disc 2. But even worse, I cannot rip my CDs into iTunes properly because there is no disc information. No titles; not track names; just "Track 1" and "Track 2" etcetera. I don't think that's worse, because the disc information can be rectified or will be taken care of by itself with time, the duplicate disc, however, needs to be replaced. Obviously, the newer a CD, the less likely it is that the data is already there. Last time I had that with a film soundtrack was when I got the new LEGEND from Music Box Records. I had it happen to me that I bought a recording of Schönberg's GURRELIEDER (Rattle, Berlin Philharmonic, EMI 2CD), and Disc 2 was a duplicate of Disc 1, even though it was labelled "Disc 2". That was over 20 years ago, when there were still record stores. So I went back into the store and exchanged it. The replacement copy had the same problem. So I went into the store again and exchanged it yet again (it was the last copy they had), and that time it was correct.

As mentioned above, I submitted the information to CDDB / Gracenote yesterday. Information that would be helpful for the disc 4 issue -- whether incorrect or correct -- are the very small identifier numbers on the underside of the CD. The LBR number is extremely tiny and will likely require a magnifier. Here's an example: 303903 DFM03 LBR DF01 That accompanied by country / outlet of purchase. And just email me that at mxmxpr@gmail.com Thanks!
