Lets just admit the obvious here, the shipping and handling charges at La La Land are ridiculously and necessarily high for all shipments. .

As a customer in Europe I simply do NOT agree. In these days of high customs charges and damaged discs from poor packaging, it's FANTASTIC to have at least one mail order company giving fast and reliable service. So a big shout out to La-La Land, Thanks from a very happy customer (and it was a great sale as well)!

Really, it's the USPS who sets the rates. Don't shoot the guy who is essentially the messenger.

That's why the postman doesnt ring once these days, let alone twice - he's afraid he's going to get shot.

*ding dong!*

“That a package from La-La Land?” asks finance-concerned homeowner as he carefully but quickly assembles shoulder-held rocket launcher.

Lets just admit the obvious here, the shipping and handling charges at La La Land are ridiculously and necessarily high for all shipments. I work in the shipping business and believe me it does not cost what they charge to ship out CDs even if you include materials/handling. In all fairness, the same can be said of Screen Archives shipping charges too even at their "media rates".

By the way that is based on current USPS shipping rates.

I disagree. La La Land offers excellent customer service and it is well worth paying for.

No one is questioning La La Land's customer service at all. What I was questioning was their extremely high shipping charges. What I ordered from them in a recent order I could have shipped via the USPS for a third of what they charged me. I believe even UPS would have charged less.

California residents also have to pay 8.5 percent sales tax.
Plus shipping costs add a whopping 33 percent to the overall cost!
example : DIE ANOTHER DAY on Sale was $22:75 - a great deal!- but totaled $30.00.

Waiting still for it to come back in stock........

Imma join you, DiB! The CDs I'm intending to order are all OOS at the moment... *shakes fist at Conrad Pope, whom I'm holding responsible for ANYthing these days*

I'm not sure if A.I. was among them, but MV recently mentioned some OOS titles wouldn't be restocked until 2019. Maybe it's a time-consuming process having more stock pressed. I know they go in batches.

MV advised me about needing to have patience with some of these titles. Absolutely no problem, as I understand that some of the bigger titles, like (no pun intended!) Titanic, are work-intensive and with, I assume, lower capacities at the manufacturing plants, this simply will take time. smile

There is nothing work intensive repressing titles...some are just expensive AF. Despite what my wife and kids (and some customers) think I'm not made of money lol. And with some massively expensive titles coming up for Black Friday I need to allot funds for those before repressing older ones.

That said, Close Encounters and AI will be back in stock sometime in november

Thanks for this info, MV! I plan to buy Close Encounters in November, depending on what the Black Friday titles are... The Black Friday CDs might take precedence for me!
