Something that occurred to me for Volume 4: please limit/leave out more versions of the theme to leave maximum space for other things, especially if this is our last chance!

I have to say that I almost listen to the more atmospheric, rather than melodic, tracks from season 1-2 on Volume 2, so for myself I hope that not too many similar pieces will be included on the new compilation. I only listen regularly to half of the ones from season 1 included on Volume 1. I would like additional cues from Pilot, Duane Barry, Ascension and One Breath, and Humbug, though. But then again, I only started keeping track of the pieces I liked during Avatar (purely so I could find them again – at that point I didn’t even realise there were soundtracks available!), and love the music from Space and Gender Bender on Volume 3.

I also really like the cue from Oubliette that people have been talking about.

Will no one second three of my absolute favourites, which I seem to be alone, or almost, in mentioning?
- the scene in Avatar where Skinner talks to his unconscious wife at her hospital bedside (from about 35.45);
- the cue from The Field Where I Died, the scene where Melissa tells Mulder and Scully about her past life as Sarah Kavanaugh (17.00-20.50);
- music from Mind’s Eye.

In case the full score is ever released, I would be most interested in a digital version, and being able to buy the scores to the episodes separately. There are definitely episodes I would be interested in, particularly if the music I’m most eager to see on Volume 4 doesn’t make the cut (cues from the episodes I mentioned in my post from March last year):
- any additional cues from Paper Hearts, and Musings of A CSM,
- Avatar,
- The Field Where I Died,
- The Rain King,
- Mind’s Eye,
- Redux II,
- Terms of Endearment,
- Sein Und Zeit
- Closure).

I wonder if this release will be delayed to the Fall, like Volume 3. We might find out more at WonderCon!

Wow that piano cue towards the end of Memento Mori is beautiful!
Its strange its not included in any of the volumes! Hopefully for the 4th one (which will come this summer wink )

That entire episode is a powerhouse of a score. Probably the most glaring omission in the sets so far.

Just watched the Pilot for The Lone Gunmen. Not sure what I think of the show yet, lol.
But has score from this show ever been released?

La-la-land released it in 2010, but it has slipped out of print:

Another question, sorry but this is a bit off topic, but it felt weird to bump threads that are several years old, lol!
I'm also about to dive into the world of Millennium and its score. I have already noticed its a bit more melodic than TXF (only watched the two first episodes, so no spoilers please! big grin ). And I really like it!

I have arranged both LLL volumes in chronological order of the episodes as I like to watch the episode before I listen to the score (otherwise I just wont feel "connected" to it).
And with some google research I notice that there are other CDs containing score from the show as well. I think one promo for each season + one "best of" release with really weird track names? Just wondering if the tracks on these are all in the LLL releases? Or do I have to hunt these down as well if I "want it all!!" big grin

In regards to the show "MillenniuM", be prepared -- it goes down hill in season two, then there's the bottom of the hill that is season three.

not sure that is fair to say though we do agree season 3 is rock bottom. For me season 2 is the only thing i can rewatch.

acathla, Morgen and Wong took over that season and made it more X-files-ish. So to those of us that love that vibe it's a cool season, some surprisingly good holiday episodes and their only 2-parter as well. Season 1 clearly has a vision of something different, I just find it a bit boring, but not with out merit. You could say season 2 turns a little more mainstream and you can judge for yourself on the results. Season 2 has an interesting ending (was a potential series ender at the time) and it might be best to just stop there.

as far as the music goes i think La La Land pretty much covers it. There was an itunes only version, I thought, that I've been able to match to La La Land's volume 1 within a track or two. I think it's more or less all there. There are also 2 CDs out for the Millennium documentary (not by Mark Snow) which are interesting but also overkill. I'm not familiar with some of those other discs you are describing but La La Land is usually the definitive presentation.

Thank you for the info!

I just found some old forum threads searching and there were discussions (and pictures) of several promo CDs.
But pretty sure these were all from before the LLL volumes were released wink

Thats quite interesting to see people have such different views about the seasons.
I love it when there is divided feelings about shows before I start seeing them.
I am also a bit of a sucker for main stream stuff, lol! big grin

Interesting timing, Tempest. I actually went to X-Fest 2 today in Schaumburg, Illinois, and met Mark Snow face-to-face! It was glorious! I mentioned I have the first three volumes, all signed, and he mentioned a fourth was coming. I said, “I know,” haha. Just a matter of time!
