Was it announced if the physical deluxe edition will be available through Amazon or should we order direct? It is available through Amazon.com. You might receive it sooner by ordering direct. Ordering direct hasn't been possible for the last few days, unfortunately. It's either been marked as SOLD OUT, or when it's listed as in stock, the website won't let you complete a purchase. There's a warning on the website that they're moving locations, hopefully they get the website fixed once they settle in their new home.

The part that plays the recitative melody is the original version and was on the album. What you hear in the film was an insert added post-preview in January 1965. The playback version is actually the "alternate" that has been released yesterday as an "instant gratification" tease. That's what I thought. Gettin' closer (If one person should put the puzzle piece, that is the "Composer's Original Score").

It seems like this is what's known about the R&H films that 20th controlled until recently. Please correct me if I have anything wrong. 1945 State Fair - controlled permanently by 20th Oklahoma - controlled by R&H, now distributed by Samuel Goldwyn on home video Carousel - controlled permanently by 20th The King and I - subject to relicense by 20th, unclear if that has happened South Pacific - controlled by R&H, now distributed by Samuel Goldwyn on home video 1962 State Fair - controlled permanently by 20th The Sound of Music - subject to relicense by 20th, just relicensed

Fox/Disney controls the 1962 remake of STATE FAIR Thanks! I assumed that was the case, but because it's not available on streaming and the Blu-Ray is OOP, there wasn't an easy way to tell online.

Mike posted a video earlier today displaying the finished physical product, which looks beautifully put together. Can’t wait to get my copy and almost wish Disney might do something similar for Mary Poppins in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOd-8q0Mn98

CELLULOID DREAMS THE MOVIE SHOW -- 12/1/23 THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Those hills are back, baby! 58 years (!) and many iterations later, historian/preservationist Mike Matessino has assembled a soundtrack set fans could only dream of. THE SOUND OF MUSIC: SUPER DELUXE EDITION is the definitive audio collection comprising the complete film score plus a wealth of previously-unreleased material including instrumentals for every song, demos and rare outtakes from the cast. We gave you a preview in October, and now Mike is here for the entire hour to chat about what's included on the 4 discs and how it all came together. Plus, we'll play a handful of tracks in this end-to-end CELLULOID DREAMS exclusive! "Screen Scene" movie reviews return next week (but you can find THIS week's segment on our FB page). * * * * * * * * This week's featured soundtrack: THE SOUND OF MUSIC: SUPER DELUXE EDITION (music by Rodgers and Hammerstein) [Craft Recordings] https://soundcloud.com/user-782049152/mike-matessino-talks-the-sound-of-music-super-deluxe-edition-celluloid-dreams-12-1-23

Mine is this way too, sorry to say, and I've reported it. This is very disappointing, but of course correctable. I've checked my deliverable and it is accurate. So it's a plant error.
