Gus van Sant’s obscure quirky indie romance drama was released in theaters a decade ago today. Elfman’s small tender score perfectly depicts the romance between the terminally ill young girl and a grieving young man, who copes with his parents death by crashing funerals. The score is very ethereal for a movie dealing with death, loss, and grief.
So it was Jane Seymour who got John Barry on board... Demi Moore got John Barry to do The Scarlet Letter; maybe Caroline Munro got him to do Starcrash.
