What's the reason of including the cue identifiers on the track lists? I noticed them here and on HTTYD Deluxe. Is it just to help people read along with the paper score?

All Powell's told us is "November"

I don't mean to throw water on the campfire here, but is this track listing legit?

I literally linked to Powell's instagram where the track list came from when I posted it.

For HTTYD that is presumably the reason - the back cover of the Varese album even mentions the Omni release directly.

No Omni release has been announced for Solo so we don't know if one is coming or not.

I get the vitriol over no physical copy but the "No CD = No Sale" mentality probably means that the worse it does digitally the less likely it would ever get released physically.

Also, why does everyone still sport woodies over CD Audio.
A 40 year old L&R stereo only spec is the hill we want to die on?
The Music Industry should have been on copy protected DVD, BluRay or 4k Audio by now.

It's catch 22. Does well digitally then the lesson learned is, no one is interested in CD's anymore.
If people don't buy digital they'll conclude, not enough interest for a CD.

Its also kinda crumby those that want it on CD have to bite the bullet and purchase the digital release, then have to buy it again if it ever gets a CD release.

Oh, and I'll always have a woody for CD's.

It will be streaming on Spotify and all the other streaming services. You don't have to purchase it independently if you use any of those.

So what’s the point then?

Second, Spotify isn’t free of course. You pay for it by feeding the algorithms and listing to commercials. Or through subscription.

I don't care all that much if it's on CD, I don't really need CDs anymore, if it's a lossless or better yet high-res download that's fine with me. I'm worried about the "unedited" part though? What does that mean? Is that the complete film score as intended or the assembly for the movie? I'd buy the former over the latter.

It’s The Phantom Menace UE all over again.......
Seriously though, it better not be, although did I read that this will have the film inserts as opposed to what was originally written?

Was the score diced and sliced for the film and this is the actual recording sessions?
Does this contain music not used in the film?

Sure, some cues got edited down, all the usual stuff. This release has the full, unedited cues, with no regard for what edits they might have made in the final cut.

I liked SOLO.

It made me remember the time when STAR WARS was fun and simple and not convoluted plots about space Jesus.

The score is quite good considering it was composed by one of Zimmer's minions.

I don't think you can call Powell one of "Zimmer's minions" at this point in his career.

Powell hasn't been a Zimmer minion for years. Even when he worked at RC, the only major project he did that really sounded like Zimmer was Face/Off, and that was because they wanted the Zimmer sound but he was busy. Even if you look at Powell's follow-up to that, Endurance, it sounds like Powell.

Seems we’ll need to keep our original albums for The Adventures of Han?

And for the album version of "Chicken in the Pot," which has two female singers instead of one male and one female.
