Yes, he did say that, but I think it was meant as a more generalized "figure-of-speech" sort of thing.
And it would not be applicable to you, in particular, because your identity is already established (inasmuch as is accepted as "established" in the internet world).
I realize I'm playing devil's advocate here and I won't harp on it further.
(Gullible... well, we all can be under certain circumstances. My trust was exploited several times in the past and was stalked as a result, which is mainly why I generally won't use my own name anymore. Something that appears benign can so often turn to the opposite in the blink of an eye.)

EXACTLY. Which is why I still remain shocked that people here wouldn't understand that WagnerAlmighty has perfectly good reasons (probably even those same ones) for keeping her identity a secret on public message boards. But apparently she's not allowed to remain anonymous and also make any reference to her profession, without it being insinuated that she is lying about it.

To be clear neither you nor I know the circumstances of why WagnerAlmighty would want to preserve her privacy on message boards (how do you know for sure that her reasons aren't similar to yours, without knowing what reasons she might have)?

I'm not saying I know one way or another.
What I AM saying is:
Firstly, as Sol pointed out (and I, earlier), she would constantly talk about what she did and then act surprised that it aroused curiosity. In my particular case, I did no such thing.
She chose to keep mentioning it.
If there is any lesson to be learned from this at all, I think it would be to refrain from boasting if you won't back it up. Otherwise, what's the point?
Secondly, Sol's use of the phrase "know you from Adam" was probably not directed at you or meant to insult you.
But as I don't want to be speaking for anyone else, this is where I leave it.

Is stating one's profession "boasting"? Did she brag about big projects she had scored or awards she had received? I certainly don't remember seeing that. Has anyone asked Schiffy, "Oh, you keep referring to working on multiple TV series in Hollywood? Oh yeah? Prove it by sharing your IMDb page." If so, I've never seen it.

It certainly was directed at me; he wrote,
"Sorry to offend Yavar but I don't know you or WA from Adam. I don't base conclusions on faith but on evidence. Anyone can claim to be anything on the internet. You've now insinuated major medical issues to the list of mysteries. These kinds of stories are a dime a dozen on the internet. How do I know you're not being duped?"
I know I have evidence of the claims I've made in this thread (in my email inbox; just checked...sadly the link to her symphony excerpt no longer goes anywhere, and I never downloaded it, but I have what she wrote), and solium is clearly saying he does not believe me.
