Yep. That's the ticket. Listening to this very CD myself at the moment. In a few minutes, Mr. Herrmann will be berating someone during the "Studio rehearsals and outtakes cue". What an exciting recording session it must have been (regardless of what that old charmer "Linoleum" Newman may have thought of Mr. Herrmann). Great choice, Mr. Ostinato.

Thanks! I do love that particular track.

Did no one else pick this up? An underrated effort from the Maestro. His theme for Richard Kiel's bad guy is especially delightful.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH - music by Bernard HERRMANN

I have the Colosseum edition of this. I really want the Varese expanded edition.

I don't understand why Varese limited this to 500 copies, seeing that Herrmann seems to sell rather well. It would have given a chance to those who missed out on the Herrmann at 20th Century Fox set to obtain a copy.

I don't understand it, either. This edition sold out before I was even aware of it, so for the time being I've had to make do with the isolated score on the Twilight Time Blu-ray (first edition).

I missed out on this, which pissed me off. It was sold out by the time I caught wind of it. Oh well.

Venom by Ludwig Göransson

Not a particularly rewarding listen outside the film. All sound and furious bzzzing, signifying… blah, blah, BRAMMMMMM!!!

Looking forward to what Beltrami has up his (more accomplished) sleeve for the sequel.
