I attended this ASA event, which was mainly a score study session on Jurassic Park, but Don did talk a bit about Williams' Episode IX scoring thus far. They'd been recording on a leisurely schedule to allow him to more musically tailor the music to sequences as they're re-edited and Don noted that Williams has written some especially difficult, challenging cues for the film. Don said he is continually amazed at John's ability to keep pushing himself in new compositional directions. He did talk about how pretty much every major theme from the series makes an appearance, but he described how they will often be hidden or buried, showing up for only a few bars and something that only reveals itself on many listens. With 135 minutes of music and scored almost wall-to-wall, that should give us a clue as to the film's running time.
Sounds great. I hope we get a 'full' score release, along with album presentations of the tracks, as Williams likes to do, for this Skywalker finale.
Will they re-master and re-release the other six (or, eight) scores again? I'm sure I have a problem, or maybe I'm just part of the problem, but I would buy the Empire score again if complete and fully re-mastered.
I find it interesting that Don says "every theme you ever heard" (according to the YouTube clip). I'm sure it's probably unintentional hyperbole, but would Boba Fett's bassoon motif be back, too? Or Parade of the Ewoks? If so, will be fun to pick apart when it's released.

the forced diversity
Anyone using that phrase instantly loses all credibility. Diversity exists. Period. If you're of the mindset that it has to be justified in some way, the problem is you. I always found it absurd that there were only two people of color playing humans in the original trilogy. What's more absurd is that people are railing against the new movies since they've begun to remedy that.
If a movie incorporating people of color counts as a negative for the movie, you're the problem.
Who said that me? I don't remember. No one is against diversity. Though Disney and Hollywood are forcing diversity. The casting is based on sex, race and sexual preference first, then they try to write the characters. Which they don't really care about which is why no one really cares about them. Have you not been paying attention lately?
No one really cares? Is that why these movies have made billions?
Did you ever think after decades of straight white men dominating movies behind and in front of the camera, it may be time to recognise that there is a lot more diversity in the world? Given the uproar over Rey (a woman) and Finn (a black person) by "fans", it's definitely time to address this. If that's "forcing diversity", good. It's needed.
THIS argument made sense....20 years ago.
I dunno but when I look at tv credits these days, women are are plentiful in every aspect of production .
GOT is a prime example.
And, if you think people of color are absent in front of the camera, you're not watching contemporary movies or tv, your regurgitating VS talking points and SJW
propaganda.
BTW You think all those " white men dominating movies "" were "straight"!?. You obviously have limited exposure to show business personell

There is ' uproar ' over Rey because she is clearly a character who is there to push Kathleen ' The force is female! ' Kennedys feminist agenda.This is why Rey requires no training,and is able to beat up evrey man she sees,fly and fix the Falcon better than Han Solo,and defeat a powerful force user who has had YEARS of training in lightsaber combat.
It gets even worse in The Last Jedi.Pretty much every resistance fighter seems to be a woman ( Remember that feminist agenda folks! ) and the men are shown to be either idiots or evil.Poe gets slapped in the face by Leia ( Because hey,violence against women BAD,violence against men GOOD.Just ask Brie Larson ) and the fat asian chick sexually assaults Finn after nearly killing him by ramming into his speeder at the climax.
The only really good thing to look forward to in TROS is a new John Williams score.

Yeah so he can throw lightning around again despite being...dead.I know we are used to force ghosts but when he started throwing down lightning bolts from the the sky in The Last Jedi ( Which blows luke off his feet and nearly kills him!) i was thinking ' ..the hell? '
