It almost sounds like that was done after the track was finished. If you listen closely it sounds different from the rest of the song.

Here's my attempt at a better edit that uses the intro from the film, but holds the film mix of the song until

"it's a...[film]/[album]...given LA law"

Enjoy. (link removed)

Cool edit Croweyes though I don't know if we can share that on the board. It may be against the rules so I would take it down. If you want to email me stuff like that peter.atterberg@gmail dot com is my address.

I'm getting more and more excited about this release as time goes on. Gah, it has to come! Haha. I wonder how Harold Faltermeyer must be feeling right now to have two of his great works to finally be released and appreciated by his fans.

Has anyone got this yet and can tell us which version of Shakedown is included? The movie version (with the guitar opening) or the album version? Thanks.

Shoot me your email address. I will have this set on Monday at the latest, but I have edited the song together into the film version if you want a copy.

Just received my copy today - the version on the disc doesn't have the guitar opening.

Disappointing, but not at all surprising. As I said, I don't think that version was ever actually "out there", so to speak. It was probably an early mix done just for the film before the album was finalized. Anyway, the edit I've made will suit me just fine. My sets will arrive today. Can't wait!

EDIT: Here's a youtube link to my "Adrianos / Shakedown (Film Version)" edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtJnzD6o-sc

Got these today and couldn't tear them open fast enough. Words can't express how happy and appreciative I am towards Lala for making this 80's junkie and Faltermeyer fanatic dream come true. They couldn't sound any better. Loving them. Surprised how much more music was in the sequel then I thought. Time for another spin!

At least one effect is mixed somewhat differently than it is in the film, though I wouldn't say it was "muffled". The only time I really noticed it was that first "bwaaaam" sound (as the Paramount logo comes on the screen). It's there, but MUCH lower volume than in the film. I fixed it in my edit. smile Anyway, the rest of the track sounds absolutely fine IMO.

I wonder why Faltermeyer left out out the intro bass drone and rising pad from the CD-mix.
