"Spaceballs: The Schwartz Awakens" has a nice ring to it.

In about 9 weeks time, we'll have a new John Williams score to absorb. His final music for a Star Wars film too. I canna wait

We're way past the usual time that a Star Wars soundtrack is announced. My archived orders at Amazon show that I'd ordered Force Awakens and Last Jedi long before now, in 2015 and in 2017. And yet, no news (so far) on Rise of Skywalker. Is it possible they're delaying its release for a super special reason?

I hope that super special reason isn't that it's ONLY getting a double LP vinyl release like the first film in 1977. I'm sure they would've released it on cd ,if they could have

Multiple rumors say this film is in post production hell. The film is most likely not locked down yet. It’s not a rumor. Williams said at Tanglewood he had to go back and restore parts of it, didn’t he? And that’s from seven weeks ago. From what I overheard his brother Don say to someone at the Scoring Arts in August, this was always the plan by JJ and Williams from before the time main production wrapped. It was always going to be a string of sessions, separated by weeks, spreads across several months. This is not the usual model for film scoring, even for previous SW films in the Lucas era when Williams was often composing during a Nov-Dec time frame and recording the music in Jan-Feb or Feb-Mar, but this was absolutely planned for, just like when all big budget films schedule in reshoots ahead of time. It doesn't mean trouble, just plan of working incrementally during post. I see no reason for this. Films like this are story-boarded. You film the boards. Lucas was an exception because he was obsessed with his toys and always tinkering to the very end. In most other cases if you don't have your film locked down by now its because you got a mess on your hands. Poor planning, weak script, not knowing how you want to end it, etc.

The film has always been in trouble in regards to scheduling given the firing of original director Colin Trevorrow at the last minute and Disney practically begging JJ to come in and save the day.Given the sorry state the franchise is in now thanks to Kathleen ' I dont have to cater to male fans ' Kennedy with The Last Jedi dividing the fanbase,Solo flopping,Lucasfilm employees insulting fans on social media,Resistance being cancelled,Galaxys edge proving to be a financial and PR disaster, and the toys not selling ( Particularly Rose Tico action figures ). Episode 9 has a lot of work to do to restore faith in the brand.
