A thousand times YES! It is the best re-recording Jerry ever did of his work, and with the London Symphony Orchestra no less! To hear “Wall of Fire” thundering over your speakers in an amazing modern recording...well, it’s just incredible. And their recording of The Artist Who Did Not Want to Paint (my favorite Goldsmith work) is absolutely sublime! Yavar

I must advise to grab Sand Pebbles if you don't already have it, Intrada knocked it out of the park imo. The Waxman is a steal as well, Julius Caesar.

An.objective voice. Lol! About Jerry's music? No, you got me. I'm too far gone to be truly objective. But about this particular recording? I am 100% objective, honestly. I can point out the flaws of almost every other Goldsmith re-recording (including The Sand Pebbles, his previous one for Intrada), but this one with the LSO is just incredible. I can honestly say that I *prefer* listening to the original complete Rio Conchos recording, overall...because I think it flows better. But in terms of highlights, it's amazing to get the very best ones in sterling modern sound quality performed by the LSO. Yavar

I must advise to grab Sand Pebbles if you don't already have it, Intrada knocked it out of the park imo. The Waxman is a steal as well, Julius Caesar. Sand Pebbles is currently on its way to me, though the Waxman set and two other albums (On the Waterfront and Spellbound) were sorely tempting. I ultimately settled on Sand Pebbles because I've been meaning to dive further into Goldsmith (up until now, the scores of his in my house were Secret of NIMH [which I highly recommend] and the original soundtrack album of Mulan). I have the Intrada album of Julius Caesar, but I prefer listening to the FSM for that score as there's something about the music as conducted by Maestro Rozsa that Broughton doesn't quite come close too, even if the recording is mostly mono.

Despite my need to binge, I could only afford Sand Pebbels and Jaws 3D (which sharply came down in Danger Zone quantity... don't wait on that one at this price).

Okay, I caved. I got Damnation Alley, the Tinker Bell cd I was missing, and Welcome to Marwen. Looking forward to giving them a listen.
