I saw the comment about using 3rd party tracks. Interesting choice. Personally I would enjoy to hear Mark's music more but I will buy it either way!
One thing I always prefer in my soundtracks is content that was actually used in the episodes rather than outtakes. Thankfully we have not gotten that with X-Files.

yup, including those tracks it's gonna steal minutes from a mark Snow's original track that it won't have another chance to be released... well that's just my opinion
Hi ! That's difficult because I would have to rewatch every episode :-) What comes to my mind atm is :
S1E08 : "Ice"
S1E20 : "Darkness falls" (the very first episode I stumbled upon, at that time they were broadcasting it late on the French television and I thought : OMG, that's exactly the kind of stuff I was looking forward to !)
Edit : heh, just saw other people just mentioned it too That's funny because each time I saw a new X-F episode release I was wondering if it'd be there !
Also, the missing cues from the mountain in Gethsemane ... and Herrenvolk ... including the sequence in which the lineman is stung by the bee and then the colony across the hills is found. Love those sequences ...
here's an interesting thing... If you have to pick one episode from each season to have every single cue released (or the missing ones, in case of the episodes already covered) What episodes would you pick? Me? S01E20 Darkness Falls S02E16 Colony S03E09 Nisei S04E08 Tunguska S05E01 Redux I S06E10 Tithonus S07E15 En Ami S08E04 Roadrunners S09E01 Nothing Important Happened Today I S10E04 Home Again
I just went back and watched Oubliette. It has some really good stuff in it especially, the piano motif at the end of the episode which was awesome! I know the piano and the chase motif have been released before on the Truth and the Light album, but I believe it is now OOP. It would be nice to have a clean version of these two cues in volume 4.

S01E79 - Pilot S01E06 - Ghost in the Machine S02E19 - Dod Kalm S03E18 - Teso dos Bichos S03E24 - Talitha Cumi S04E24 - Gethsemane S05E01/02 - Redux 1/2 S06E08 - Rain King S07E15 - En Ami
I don't know the episodes / music of season 8 and 9 that well. So I would let them slip and "nominated" 2 episodes from 2 earlier seasons to get to 9 "picks"

I for one would still be interested in 'ultra limited' releases of complete scores like Triangle, Gethsemane, and the other popular scores mentioned in this thread. If at this point I'd have to pick one episode per season: 1: Pilot 2: Humbug 3: Piper Maru 4: Gethsemane 5: The Pine Bluff Variant (or Redux) 6: Triangle 7: The Goldberg Variation Interesting exercise: it's especially difficult to choose for seasons 3-6. (I feel seasons 1-2 are already very well represented in the box sets, esp. compared to other seasons, although there are a number of key cues from season 1 still missing.)
Adding to my requests: - I'm still in my rewatch and have added the action motif from Surekill to my requests list, for instance when Tammi's introduced in the episode. It's also in the prologue but I'm not sure that's the most developed statement of the motif. - That music for the Mulder cameo in Lone Gunmen sounds fun, indeed.
I'd like to have the whole Truth and the Light soundtrack without the SFX. However, I'd want some changes (yeah, yeah).
First of all: that extended main titles needs to be shortened. Or another version used instead.
That atmospheric thing before or after it, needs to go. And, call me a heretic if you want, there's a change I want to make others might not agree with: instead of the soundtrack ending with that female vocal, that would be the second-to-last cue and after it I'd include (without the FX) the re-recorded/re-arranged cue from "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" from The Snow Files (done by John Beal (in my view, superior to the actual version from the show).
Of course I'd keep that bonus cue (also SFX free).

Season 1: Darkness Falls Season 2: The Host Season 3: Piper Maru Season 4: Tempus Fugit Season 5: Kill Switch Season 6: Two Fathers Season 7: Millennium Season 8: Patience
The following would be my complete list if I were able to choose several episodes from each season (except season 9):
- Fallen Angel - Darkness Falls - The Erlenmeyer Flask - The Host - Colony - Dod Kalm - Anasazi - The Blessing Way - Paper Clip - D.P.O. - 2Shy - War of the Coprophages - Syzygy - Piper Maru - Talitha Cumi - Home - The Field Where I Died - Tunguska - Tempus Fugit - Max - Redux I - Kill Switch - SR 819 - Two Fathers - One Son - Millennium - Sein und Zeit - Requiem - Patience

where he mentions that work is underway for a release of the music of Season 11:
Any plans to release a soundtrack for the revival series?
There is one for Season 10. I think they are doing one for Season 11.
Do you have anything to do with that?
Yeah. They pick out the stuff they like and arrange it in a certain order. I listen to it, and say, "That's great" or "Start again."
No surprise there! -- although I have to say I found the music of Season 11 highly derivative of his work for the movie IWTB and for Season 10.
I hope work for Volume 4 for the original series is progressing too! (LLL: the series' 25th anniversary is on September 10! Don't miss it!)
Thanks for sharing. Very interesting article especially the part about pitching to the executives. Wow! Twenty-five years? Where did time go?!?!
I've to say I'm so pumped for the season 11 score release too! just hear this beautiful track from Familiar (with a creepy Mr. Chuckletheet's tune near the end) I dunno why the music's volume was too low this season ( and the last) I had to increase the volume 20 times to have this
I would also like to throw in "Nothing Important Happened Today" (both parts). I honestly had no issues with the Super Soldier arc of the last few seasons, and I think that Mark Snow did a bang-up job ending the first run of the series.
