Are you talking about this? The Force Field / The Cloud (excerpts) Someone: "Second short-" Goldsmith: "Third" Someone: "Shorty coming up. No, long one coming up." *pause* "I'm sorry." Goldsmith: "Well which one?" Someone: (very quickly) "That was it." (Laughter and various funny stings from the orchestra) When you hear it, it's pretty cute. Also: "Ok, now the beam. Just the beam." (Blaster beam) "Don't KILL it!" Goldsmith: "You got a SOLO! Play it!" Not exactly Easter Eggs, since they're in the track descriptions.

Yes, it must be something to excite Sci-Fi convention fans, but surely something even bigger and better than Star Trek TOS... There is nothing bigger or better.

so does this mean we can expect BLACK RAIN within the next few weeks? if so, FANTASTIC!! this score should have received an Oscar nomination.

A long while back MV hinted around about Dominic Frontiere's scores from THE INVADERS TV series as a possibility. I wonder if any progress has been made in this quest because Mr. Frontiere doesn't have any tapes and didn't know where they could have wound up.

From Facebook La-La Land Records: We shall be there (Star Trek Convention - Las Vegas) with plenty of goodies...and perhaps with news of the biggest release in soundtrack history. Actually, this original "quote" seems nowhere to be found. On facebook, I just saw one big post with these two separate quotes: "Secondly, thanks to everyone who ordered yesterday -- it was one of our biggest release days in our 10 year history!" and "After that, the LLL gang is heading to Vegas, baby! We will be beaming down to the Star Trek Convention at the RIO in Las Vegas from Aug 9 to Aug 12. We will be selling our fine cds as well as discussing some of our upcoming projects. There might even be a panel set up with some of our producers to discuss their work on the various Trek soundtracks over the past few years. We'll keep you posted on that." Did something somehow got mixed up? Or what was that all about this "biggest release in soundtrack history"?

Every time I read that, I get a little tingly thinking about what it could be, but then I realize it's at a ST convention, so chances are that even if it's historically exciting, it won't be for me. Of course something that would warrant the term "biggest release in soundtrack history" could and should be the "Complete James Bond Box" - but that may most probably be wishful thinking. Nearly five months left to be still in time for the 50th anniversary...
