This is a fantastic final release which I will definitely be purchasing. Would never have dreamed a three disc set was possible. I'm a little tickled that though this was supposed to come out almost a year ago originally, since it got pushed to 2013 it is in fact labeled as "Vol. 16 No. 1" so the final volume of FSM is only one title (and the previous volume was only five). One other note: I noticed that the final count for FSM releases was correctly changed to 250: "250 Golden and Silver Age Classics on CD since 1996... and counting! Exclusive distribution by SCREEN ARCHIVES ENTERTAINMENT." But shouldn't the "...and counting!" part be taken out at this point? Yavar

It's like yesterday since Stagecoach was released in 1998. So much has changed in those years. I will miss the FSM cd's. Great ending to a great run. I hoped Lukas would release something he enjoyed himself.

I've only started to get into Fielding in the past two years or so. He's not the most accessible composer in the world, but his writing is very intelligent and now that I've gotten over the learning curve, so to speak, I've found much to enjoy. I'm not terribly familiar with The Wild Bunch, but have heard it's a masterpiece so this one is definitely ordered! Lukas et al.'s FSM releases over the years have been a real wealth of excellent film music. The most astonishing thing to me, is when I look back over my collection of FSM disks (50 and counting) is not just that there's so much good music but that there was so much good music I was completely unaware of. When FSM started out with their limited editions, I was in grade 10 and just starting to get into film music and I had much to learn. If I were to make a top 10 FSM list, 5 would be from Holy Grail releases (Horner's Treks, Goldsmith's Gremlins, for example) and another 5 would be from scores that I was essentially unfamiliar with and bought on the strength of the soundclips. The folks at FSM have done a great service to the film music community over the years and I hope that FSM will exist in some form, be it through the online magazine, the message board or at least some of these classic releases that stay in print, so that the next generation of film music fans can discover the same wealth we've enjoyed for the past decade and a half. So here's to Lukas and everyone else at FSM and Screen Archives! You've done a hell of a job and I'm forever grateful. Chris.

Hi, Lukas. I was wondering when you might be posting the additional liner notes for this release (which should be arriving in my mail box any day). Thanks.
