OK, I've got to ask the question why on earth is Michael Boddicker credited on the album cover? Surely one minor source cue is not worthy of such a credit?

TWO major source cues. I say "major" because these are two of the only source tracks I can recall (in ANY score) that I actually prefer in the body of the score. Usually I like em sent to the back of the disc.
I must admit that I was surprised (and pleased) by the credit. Perhaps it has something to do with Mr. Boddicker being gracious enough to spend some time remixing the tracks. I think it's a nice courtesy.
It's a cool score, but I am predictably pleased with the ol' GNP release (coupled with CAPRICORN ONE).
However, is my memory off or was this already reissued? Perhaps I'm confusing it with CAPRICORN ONE...
By the way, very cool "alternative" artwork there (with the space station against the yellow moon), much better than the old release.
No, you're not confused. Warner did their own stand-alone edition (without CAPRICORN ONE) back in 2001. (I made mention of this several weeks back and a couple of guys had slight hissy-fits on me over the definition of "reissue". LOL.)
That edition was nice, but with all due respect to Warner, this edition trounces it in every way... right down to the cover. Beautiful artwork.
WOW! Excellent! One of my favorite Goldsmith (and Stevens) scores -- and Hyams' films! When I first saw OUTLAND in Southern Cali (opening day!) -- the screening was presented in MEGA-SOUND (!!) -- then the latest SOUND gimmick (SENSOROUND anyone!) -- but it worked -- most especially during the Connery/Goon chase sequence (HOT WATER). The footsteps up and down the scaffolding seemed to be right next to my head - ear level - really made one feel as if they were chasing - being chased. Quite impressive at the time. ORDERING NOW!!!

I recall from one of the earliest editions of Cinefex magazine an article that concerned one of the photographic processes used in Outland, called 'introvision.' It basically allowed the tiniest of sets to be incorporated into a grand vista using nothing more than 'in-camera' jiggery-pokery. The scenes at the end of the movie came into their own with the process. I can't remember the name of the guy who oversaw the setup, though. It was a long time ago ... in a galaxy far, far away ...
