My guess is either:
THE JUNGLE BOOK
or
CAPE FEAR...

But its more towards JUNGLE BOOK , regarding the costssmile

And for me this would make more sense in terms of a re-recording.Bernstein´s CAPE FEAR is great and maybe for a lot folks out there as well ,so they might not purchase or contribute something they already have. Its a great re recording in my opinion of Herrmans score.
THE JUNGLE BOOK only exists as a ( great ) suite or as a preservation limited edition if I´m correct...and couple of other shorter versions ( either with narration or just short).
Maybe I´m wrong thoug of course.

However I have a request that will help international customers. I supported the ‘Dial M for Murder’ campaign but waited and bought the CD release of the Goldsmith recording. The reason for this is that the postage (for reasons entirely out of Intrada’s control) pushed the price of contributing (and getting a copy of the music) out of reasonable range for many people.

I will certainly buy the CD when it’s released but I would love to be able to contribute to the campaign to support the recording. I wonder if this time there could be a download option (with a PDF of the notes I would be happy to pay the same as the CD perk) or perhaps there is a way to add the CD to our intrada baskets so that we can split the cost of the postage with a number of other CDs?

I second that. Didn't participate because shiping was just too high. Maybe Intrada can put up a goal where we get a coupon instead of the CD so that I can eventually combine it with a regular order?

Given the success of ANY Goldsmith, a great candidate would be a coupling of The Other and The Mephisto Waltz. I'm generally not an expansion/re-tweak fan, unless truly warranted, but as they currently exist now on CD these two exceptional scores from a creative period really are lacking in many ways--brevity, sound, missing elements.

Are you suggesting a re-recorded pairing of The Other and Mephisto Waltz? Because the original tracks for both exist in good sound. It's simply a matter of them being both controlled in perpetuity by Varese Sarabande due to their 90s release (Bruce Kimmel confirmed years ago), and as Fox is now Disney-owned and I don't know if they have an active relationship with Disney, I fear these two titles might be stuck in limbo... for now, anyway.

yes, great idea, as without a tracking no. ( the kickstarter items were send out without tracking note)i t is nearly impossible for me to receive orders without problems from U.S based labels frown,
i order most of the new releases thru CSC in germany and also reduced my orders due to this postal chaos frown, as the upsp tracking number did not "convert" to the new tracking no from DHL germany frown, as much as i like to support the labels directly, but the current mail chaos is to much for me smile
i wish the labels offers additional carriers to handle the shipment.
i orders some other things in the US and this was handles by a carrier named "landmark", wonderful and fast, and custom was already solved by them.

And it does say 'titles'

I hope one of them is “The Cranes Are Flying”

Good grief! One of my favorite movies, yet I'm so dazzled by the lighting, cinematography and character warmth that I forget the music. Yes, that's lovely stuff, lovely and a little wild.

Unfortunately we can’t see that video in the UK. In truth, I’m yet to establish just how much music there is in the film. I saw it on YouTube, then bought the Blu-ray just before packing everything away to move house and managed to watch it once, firmly intending to pay particular attention to the score. However I got carried away with the story, the innovative visuals and the overall experience. Weinberg is one of my three favourite composers ever, yet is so much classical music’s best kept secret that his name doesn’t even appear in most encyclopaedias devoted to it!

Great film, nevertheless. My congratulations for knowing and appreciating it. And there’s a connection to one of my other top three composers, as Mikhail Kalatozov, director of The Cranes Are Flying also directed The Red Tent. And I don’t mean Aleksandr Zatsepin smile

I am suggesting a re-recording of The Other and The Mephisto Waltz. That the original tapes exist in good sound doesn't matter if they are unlikely to be released. I mean, I'm like on Year 50 in waiting for that release.

So, any updates on this?

We're still costing it out, so probably another couple of weeks to launch.

If that’s an indication that you’re running your own, perhaps for that Golden Age score you mentioned wanting to rerecord before… I’m looking forward to it, Bruce!

Intrada’s upcoming one is actually already the second film music Kickstarter this year, though, so it was already impossible for it to be the only one:

I think it’s pretty obvious what it’s going to be.

I'll just wait and see what it is. Chances are, I'll be on board.
