But I'm really liking this. It's inventive and entertaining throughout, and doesn't have that 30 odd minute "dead space" in the centre that let News of the World down a little for me. it definitely smacks of Avatar in places, but as a Disney animated adventure score it's pretty great. It's an immediately accessible recording / mix too. I could be completely wrong, but I still don't buy Zimmer and Cameron working together. Cameron: "You need to drop all your projects and only work on Avatar 2,3,4,5,6. Plus you need to adapt all of Horner's themes." Zimmer: "Hey Chris, Patty, Denis, Ron, I going off the grid for a couple of years to help build Horner's legacy. See y'all later." I don't see this conversation happening. Half of the score, mostly the second half is dreadful. Without actually editing out the first half of “Betrayed” I end up with a 35 minute playlist. Though even a whittled down playlist is average at best. To many short cues. The second half of the score is mostly forgettable. I'm much better off listening to his other scores. Whittled playlist: Young Raya and Namaari Betrayed (second half only) Search for the Last Dragon Into the shipwreck Enter the Dragon Fleeing from Tail Journey to Talon (First half only) Sisu Swims Dragon Graveyard Running on Raindrops Brother and Sisters The Druun Close In Return The New World total Time 35:04 Updated! Revised and edited playlist: Edited "Betrayed" down to the last 1:53 mins. Added/Edited "Journey to Talon" down to first 44 secs. Yes, that is a little odd. That's usually a sign an artist doesn't want to be associated with the project. Yeah, up to the 70's I guess. The 80's on they put the composer credit on the cover art.
