I also love that they didn't combine multiple cues to one track, something that the Ulysses 31 soundtrack (French release) features and it's a bit uncomfortable (searching for a particular cue that is)

I wonder if the only stereo version of the main theme is really the one with Spanish vocals. Or maybe they just forgot the * on the first track of the Album on disc 1? Seems odd that would be the only mono track on that original album. Not that it will affect me buying it or not, just curious.

The original extended stereo version of the main theme is missing. Very strange, also the off vocal instrumental stereo version in missing. They have been both printed on this cd (track 1 and track 13):

This is not our mastered version but I found this on youtube and had to share it today. For this track alone we had to release this score. I am sure you have someone in your life who should have this music playing as they walk around.

I think Shuki Levy & Haim Saban should sue!

Spanish vocals, you say? So they actually bothered to write lyrics that involve more than going "He-Man!" over and over again? (But then Continental TV shows do love their lyrics - even Starsky & Hutch and Heroes arranged to have actual songs for French airings.)

Never mind that - where's Skeletor's theme? Cringer's theme? Is there going to be a volume 2 or are they actually there, just titled differently? When can we expect previews?

To tyuan: I believe the XIII Bis Records CD is based on French album sources (though they added the Spanish theme song), while LLL has done a brand-new transfer and remaster of the Spanish-language album exclusively. (The underscore tracks are identical; only the theme songs and story-plux-FX tracks differ.) Our versions of the extended vocal theme (disc 2, track 1) and theme without vocals (disc 2, track 45) are pristine mono mixes taken from the surviving session tapes, and have considerably more dynamic range than anything you've heard to date!

To Neseri: The cue the YouTube channel has designated as "Skeletor's Theme" is slated as "Evil-Lyn" on the original tapes, and can be found on disc 1, track 17 of our set. Evil-Lyn would no doubt find this state of affairs hilarious ... Skeletor, probably less so. smile In general, I expect the track titles will be the subject of much discussion in the He-Man fan community, as library cues were not always used in ways that reflect their original naming. Any thwarted expectations will hopefully be balanced out by happy surprises!

Sadly, Cringer's theme was not present on the tapes we were able to locate. I hope that fans are able to accept small disappointments such as this one, and focus on the more than 90 minutes of spectacular cues (plus extras) that are on offer for the first time!

No disappointments here, big or small, only pure elation that this project has come to light. Who would've imagined?

Viva la La-La!

Thank you for your reply. Could you go through all of the He-Man cues posted on the channel and tell us their names on the CD and if there are some other themes missing? smile

Well, I feel like I ought to preserve a LITTLE mystery. smile But check back in a few weeks and I'm sure some industrious fan will have posted a spreadsheet or something of the sort. I will note that the audio from the YouTube channel, which was reconstructed from music-and-effects tracks prepared for foreign dubbing, appears to have used a PAL source -- meaning their pitch and duration are sped up slightly when compared to the original recordings. So that's something to factor in.

Fair enough. Though... could you say if these three are on the CD's? smile

5:34 - Yes, it's a She-Ra episode, but the theme features bits that sound like "He-Man! He-Man!" with the touch of Sorceresses/Castle Grayskull theme which seems to indicate that it was originally composed for He-Man. smile

13:43 You probably figured out the moment you saw the name of the episode. One of the most wanted themes. smile

The cues on the foreign LP album was remastered from the master tapes or is a LP transfer like the french label did with few tracks?

Though LLL's search spanned a few years and a few continents, any stereo master tapes remain MIA. The stereo album program on the new CD is a fresh LP transfer by Johnny Dee Davis at Precision AudioSonics, mastered with great care by Stephen Marsh and Fernando Lee. The resulting sound is better than I've ever heard it, and there is a HUGE gain in dynamic range compared to previous CDs (which have been extremely compressed and then radically amplified in volume).

Thank you for the answer Wedge!
I thought, that He-Man being an sucessfull american production, some of the music score elements would be find in the US at least.

Seems the music score recordings of animated series from decades ago, had a short storage time, after its production.

Thanks to the folks at La La Land for all the efforts done to create this fantastic release!
Wedge, if this release sells well (finger crossed!), I have already some suggestions for a second volume (don't kill me! smile): it can contain music from She-Ra and also some of the reconstructed tracks of the He-Man youtube channel (Dusan M. has done a terrific work!) with speed adjusted that you haven't found, like Cringer's theme. Do you think it will be possible?
The cover could be like the one for the Secret of the Sword dvd (in case He-Man has to help his sis in selling well the cd smile).
In any case this is my first and last question about future He-Man releases! I won't stress you anymore and I really can't wait to enjoy the fantastic music composed by Shuki Levy, finally in a proper release! Thanks again!
