Then it may be Ortolani or Bacalov. Three releases fit the description. I can't think of many non-legitimate Morricone, Lai or Ferrio CDs from LP

Ortolani Africa Addio (1966)
Ortolani Cinque Figlio di Cane (1969)
Bacalov Roma Bene (1971)

How about Quincy Jones' Mackenna's Gold?
That had an LP, and the only CD was a questionable one from Tsunami.

Did Williams or Morricone have any 60s or 70s scores that had a legit LP but only a bootleg CD?

For Williams, "Heidi" fits that bill.

Isn't the german cd a legitimate one? I have it.

Donaggio is still with us but none of his scores from the seventies that haven't already been released seem like likely candidates.

Missouri Breaks - first release of the actual complete film tracks. No question smile

I *want* to believe smile

I don't understand.
Didn't the Missouri Breaks cd had the complete score including some film versions of some cues?

The CD had the re-recording and only a few of the original tracks. I'm right about this, trust me - this will be the first full release of the original film tracks.

I always thought this one would be a good candidate for the first Williams release from Kritzerland. But I'll take it from anyone, naturally.

Wait, did you just announce Quartet's title for them?

This would be truly wounderfull.
The original filmtracks are very diffrent in arrangement than the album tracks and they are truly beauityful. I allways was disappointed, that just three (!) original tracks were on the Ryko release (Main Title, Train Robbery and Love Theme).
I allways hoped, that some label would release the complete original score (with or without the UA soundtrack album).
So, if its not released by Kritzerland now (because there was never a release of the original score, except by the three tracks of the Ryko CD, and the 'Ryko CD was a official release), I still hope some Label will bring out this great Williams score in its original beauty.

Can we write-off John Williams, then?

I hope Quartet will release more items from the AIP/Orion catalogue from the MGM vaults.

Will the soundtrack for THE TOMB OF LIGEIA by Kenneth V. Jones ever be a possibility?

Well it sure fit the clues. Someone got to it because heaven knows I tried - maybe it's Intrada then and maybe they'll get around to actually releasing it one of these fine days.

EDIT: Ah, not Intrada either - I guess at the time I inquired it was just about to expire at Varese. No worries, though, it's taken now smile

If it's Williams, which I'm hoping, it won't be the release with a previous unofficial edition. The Heidi CD was legit as far as I know.

How about inquiring about some Delerue scores the same way?

Ha, is this the first time a bad guess has lead to a release of a title (well an eventual release), so these guessing games arn't all bad smile
