More great work, Scott - I've downloaded (and rated) several of the new ones.

The Eye of the Devil scan is amazing - better than the original, I bet!

Shame that the Twilight Zone cover is so anaemic, but it'd be difficult to make a silk purse out of that particular sow's ear - I'm sure whoever put it together used the best image they could get their hands on!

According to Lukas' recap, they had no choice but to scan an old LP cover.

Oh...I think someone noted (complained) that the cover image was not as sharp as a prior edition. That’s because we had to scan an LP jacket. Do you think the labels keep the color separations? The studios have high-quality images of film stills and posters (usually), but LP covers? Forget it.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the compliments and feedback.

I'm super busy with work right now but I am slowly building up another batch (slowly is key word here).

So if you are looking/waiting for:

STAR TREK VI (both Intrada covers)
ARRIETTY THE BORROWER
KLUTE
THE GLASS SLIPPER
ATLANTIS (Eric Serra score)
WELCOME HOME ROXY CARMICHAEL
A LITTLE ROMANCE (SLC version)
THE WRATH OF GOD
THE CONVERSATION
THE FIVE MAN ARMY
BORN FREE
KHARTOUM / MOSQUITO SQUADRON
THE H-MAN / HUMAN VAPOR / SECRET OF THE TELEGIAN
ZIG ZAG / SUPER COPS
PREDATOR (Intrada MAF reissue)
ISLAND ON TOP OF THE WORLD

Have patience. They're coming... smile

I'd be very happy to see the Space Children/Colossus of New York cover split into two SEPARATE covers, one for each score.

Me too. I can easily do it but there is not much of Colossus artwork for a decent looking full cover.

No excuses! Get to work! :-)

Great Website. But how do you get the Soundtrack Covers specifically?

Great Website. But how do you get the Soundtrack Covers specifically?

Search 'Soundtrack' can help. However, this will only bring up covers that were categorized/named as a Soundtrack.

Otherwise, search for specific composers/titles.

Here's my latest batch (with more news below):

You can get them here:
http://www.albumartexchange.com/covers.php?sort=4&q=Scott+H.&fltr=1&bgc=&page=

This is going to be my last big batch of my own scans for a long while.

Zeefritz over at AAX has given me a huge archive of 1500x1500 CMYK digital files and scans from record labels that he has no time to edit and post. So, to help out I'm doing them. wink

500+ soundtrack covers!

Tons of covers from releases by Universal Music (certain titles from Disney, Pixar, Varese, MCA, etc).
The quality of most of these is amazing. I wish I could get these type of files from FSM, La-La Land, Intrada, Kritzerland, etc.

I'll update this thread as I post these.

You will be stoked. smile

BTW, I will manage to scan my own covers from time to time so keep your requests coming.

Will this wake you up?

I'll post these soon.

Next batch will be all John Williams. smile

Sadly, I'm finding that some covers in this archive (especially from Sony) are not original digital work and others are poor scans.

However, many, many more are great (especially ones from Varese in 1500 x 1500).

Nice, Scott.

I'm not a big collector of Disney discs myself, and some of the ones I do have have different covers to the ones you've teased us with, but I'm sure I'll find more than a couple useful.

Well, I would like to throw in the new FSM BEN-HUR set if possible! Thanks either way, Scott. Excellent work!

Neither am I but they're popular (so I'm told) and were easier to sort through and edit.

I've already done 15 more covers that you will more likely want such as Jurassic Park, Blade Runner (25th An), Children Of Dune, Firefly, Munich, E.T., Apocalypto, Missouri Breaks and more.

Christian,

I feel your pain...

I did retrieve all my B5 covers from storage. I will do them (unless someone else does).

Great going Scott, looking forward to seeing how they look on a Retina display soon ;-)

Quick question for you. In terms of 'future proofing' what size images do you use in iTunes et al - the 1400x1400 ? or do you save the multiple files ?

I would love to see the B5 episodics redone, as I too am stuck with those tiny old images (and some of the Amazon jewel-case pictures). Your scans are ALWAYS impeccable!

All my music is ripped into flac. The first file of each disc has the largest size (usually 1400px) image embedded in the file tag. All other tracks have the 600px image embedded. This is to conserve space. If I want to look at the art more closely, I just select the first track in my music browser (I use iPeng on my iPad with Squeezeboxes).

For my ipod, I encode flac into mp3 and all cover art is 600px in order to conserve space.

BTW, if alternate cover art is available, like the new Star Trek VI release, I embed the alternate cover for all disc 2 tracks.

Hiya!

Here's the next wave to appear on www.albumartexchange.com very soon.

I keep forgetting to mention that these are available in 600x600, 800x800, 1000x1000, and either 1400x1400 or 1500x1500.

Christian, Glen, et al, take a look at the far upper right-hand corner. wink

Enjoy!
