Guys, i'm only disappointed because i was expecting a small suite (included as a bonus track) of music from Fright Night 2 also by Fiedel, which i think is even better than the first one. It's a shame. Will we see this score (Fright Night II) released? What do you think?

I know many fans of the films in France who are NOT members of this forum. About 10 000. There is a world out of soundtrack collectors, you know. And, yes, I'm well connected, that's my job.

Wow, 10,000 huh? Well, that's a shame that 10,000 silly people are going to skip a great score, but there are other thousands who will happily buy it and be grateful for it.

And you're a moderator on this forum ? Can't believe it... Speaking of silly people, stop thinking you're part of an elite because you prefer scores to songs.

I can't understand why only 15 minutes of Sony pristine master survived.....

And I can't understand why is Brad Fiedel's master so poor........

Because that's all there is.

Releases of 80s genre soundtracks always bring out the outraged collectors on these boards.

I was also a tad disappointed some of the pop songs weren't included - especially the music of the night club sequence (the songs are the score, and underscore a key scene in the film).

Not all the songs are winners, but they do underscore and comment on the action where they are placed in the film, rather than pasted in/over - as is sometimes the case.

The score to PAUL has a nice chrono mix of Arnold's score and the pop-tunes and works very nicely as the pop tunes are part of the score of the film (and you can easily program out the pop tunes if you prefer just the score); but I am well aware that it comes down to liscence et al, and am happy to have Fiedel's score - and it will be the best it's ever going to be.

If you really, really must have the songs - the album is up on many a play list on youtube; get them from there until a song cd remaster comes out (may come out around the time of the blu-ray in December[?]); that's what I did.

Guys I have to ask, do you HONESTLY think our good friends at Intrada purposelessly said, "NAH, I don't want those songs on this score soundtrack." ? ? ?

They were not able to get the songs for most likely a variety of reasons, WAY too expensive, or the LP rights people still held the rights or the one of the many variables like that. Let's give Intrada more credit you know. I would imagine they would have loved to have a good portion of the songs on the CD, but couldn't for most likely a rights issue. Or they could have released them, but then taken little to no profit on this entire CD. These guys have been doing this for 25 years, let's trust they tried their best, but in the end, they just couldn't, okay.

I'm sure you're right, but may be Intrada can tell us what happened ? But I'm sure the lack of songs will alienate them many buyers and that's too bad because I wish the best for Intrada, that's all.

While it's really great to see how enthusiastic folks are about the release of Fright Night, it's always a shame to hear the indignation that the album wasn't put together the way some fan or other would like. I can't express the frustration that we in the business feel when years of effort and tens of thousands of dollars are expended to make an album become a reality---and then someone complains a little too loudly and often "If only..."

For what its worth, we find ourselves saying "if only..." all the time. But if albums are going to happen despite missing and compromised masters, unbelievably tangled legalities, high restoration and licensing costs, and a host of unique challenges (it's always SOMETHING), at some point it's necessary to give it your best shot and go with what you've got.

The folks at the boutique labels (FSM, Intrada, La-La-Land, Varese, et al) are not faceless corporate bean counters, they're fans like the rest of us, working against all odds to make these projects happen. A thank you is always welcome, and if you can't say something nice...

... If you don't have something nice to say just shut up, that's it ? I support Intrada on a monthly basis buying their releases and reviewing them for about 20 years, so I think I have the right to "criticize" some of the labels's choices, no ?

It is the CONSTANT criticism that I am sure gets to them. Every F'n release that ANY label puts out gets torn to shreds by people on this board who think they can do a better job or are upset because they wanted it 'this way' instead of 'that way'. Hell...I don't work in the business, but I know 'I' am fricking sick and tired of all the whining that goes on about every single release. Just ONCE I would like to see a release without SOMEONE saying something negative...it ain't gonna happen!!!!!

Easy to avoid - just explain in the press release why the songs and especially 'Come to me' is not on the CD.

The last track of the CD is "You're so cool Brewster and Come to Me"... Why do you say 'Come to me' is not on it?

I mean this in all seriousness-- have you inquired about your questions on the Intrada board, where you might get answers?

HEY - can the bull shit; this is not the place for it - both of you keep it to yourself. If you are unsure how, just let it go - don't respond; trust me, many will be grateful for both of your silences, and the thread can go on and not get locked.

If you feel you MUST throw shit back, then do it through personal email, as I (and many others here, and the folks who moderate this board) have no use for it, and don't want to read it.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Brian

If I stop reading the "whining" posts...what the hell else does that leave me to read on the boards???

This is just your fucking problem and yours only. Perhaps you're mentally retarded?

What else do you have to do? I do not know … how about killing yourself? Otherwise you can continue licking the ass of the labels, as you are used to do. Really I do not care, funny idiot.

Really, you've gone too far with this post , the other posts under your other identity aren't as bad.

We can only hope, since you're not able to express yourself any better than this, that you won't be here much longer, unless you learn some manners
