Jeff should collect the new notes into some kind of printed publication. Maybe a book of some kind? The Music of... something or other.

Query: Though the GNP-controlled music from episodes THE CAGE, WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE, AMOK TIME, and DOOMSDAY MACHINE will be absent, will there be updated liner notes for those particular episodes somewhere in the planned 6-set collection? Or will they be absent, too? I can understand that they would only be of benefit for completionists with the 15-CD boxset -- after all, why have new liner notes for music that won't be present on the new 12 CDs? -- but it would be a shame to have them left off, not receiving the "updated" treatment as well... Thank you in advance. We have zero control over those episodes and tracks. None whatsoever. MV

I knew there would be a lot of handwringing over this series. 15 CD Boxset holder or not, you've got reason to think you might be missing out. That's some genius marketing. Me, I'll buy the release with my all-time favorite score out of all of them, Gerald Fried's Catspaw. That's some genius scoring.

Unfortunately, my own all-time favorite is Kaplan’s other score for the series…which won’t be included here with new notes. Luckily I at least got a documentary film about it though, hehe… Yavar

It's been interesting reading through the thread. LOL As someone who reluctantly passed on buying the box set, I'm thrilled to buy as much of the content that'll be available through these new 2-CD sets. I'm not complaining. In fact, I'm joking about the fact that while I didn't think I could afford the box set, I'm perfectly happy to own (most of) it under La La Land Record's new layaway financing!

Will the "Spock's Brain" score presentation include the one missing track from the 15CD Box (later released on the 50th Set)? "No Mind / Tense Meeting / Tracking the Alien / The Question M15/M16/M21/M22" (2:31) Yes! Lukas

Q: Do you plan to revisit other Trek shows like TNG and DS9 in the future? A: You never know what tomorrow may bring. If there is a call for future volumes, then of course we would be honored to answer it. Alright, I am officially calling for future volumes.

First I'm told that the sound of the library cues in my 15CD set is from an inferior source, and if I want them in better quality I need to buy another multi-disc set of other scores I have absolutely no interest in, just to get the upgraded TOS library cues. Having eventually reached a point where I don't care about that nonsense any more, I now learn (I think) that a couple of minutes of music listed in the set's track lists as being in my 15CD set isn't actually in the set at all, and that if I want it, I need to buy yet another 2CD set of music I already have (apart from the wrongly-listed and absent couple of minutes) in my 15CD set. Hilarious! No, it's not like that. For TOS alone, you get a lot in the 4-disc 50th Anniversary set: • A true-stereo version of the main and end titles, with soprano Lulie Jean Norman. • The missing love theme, a library cue that was used in "Miri" and "Court Martial." • The corrected (full length) cue from "Spock's Brain." • The second season library cues in better sound quality. • The third season library cues in better sound quality. These enhancements complete and perfect the already-amazing 15-disc box. The "Spock's Brain" cue was an assembly error in the big box. The other things were not available when the box was produced. Now it appears that the coming 2-disc volumes will include all of these "extras" as well. Having bought both the box and the 50th Anniversary set, I will not be needing the 2-disc sets at all.
