Is it me, or has his style drastically changed in scores since 2019 ... As in, it doesn't even sound like it's written by the same composer? Far From Home is the last time I recognized the music as having all of his distinct compositional trademarks (which whether you liked them or not were definitely there!). Melody, counterpoint, rhythms, orchestration, all of it seems different. In comparison to his output from 2015-2017 it's almost unrecognizable!

Well he is the strongest one amongst all of them..INCREDIBELS..RATATOUILLE...UP ..those are all fantastic above average scores in my opinion.Randy Newman comes very close though and I love his MONSTERS INc. and TOY STORY ones.
Film is being heavily promoted, which is usually a bad sign, but I'm really looking forward to this score.
So... a studio can't heavily promote a movie that they're proud of and would like to invite audiences to see?
Of course they can. But I have noticed that with Disney, they tend to more heavily promote films that turn out to be duds, where they can't rely on positive word-of-mouth. I actually think LIGHTYEAR looks awesome, so hoping that isn't the case in this instance.
The movie looks great. The first quarter of the film is good... the rest not so much. Sure it has some nice action scenes, but the main issue for me is the lack of character debt amongst the side characters. I didn't care for them at all, they weren't that funny and their character development was extremely thin. The score on the other hand is great. Not Giacchino's best, but it certainly is effective. The main theme is both heroic and feel good, just like Newman provided for the original franchise.
So now even the Pixar films don't get a CD release anymore...?
Turning Red got a physical release even though it was mostly a streaming-only film (it played at the El Capitan in Hollywood for a week), though I suspect its CD release was due to the faux-boy band songs written by Billie Eilish and Finneas and not because of the Goransson score.

The vinyl releases of Turning Red containing only the songs pretty much proves your point.
