Guys, like Stephen Woolston who doesn’t want MBR to release RAISE THE TITANIC, I hope they are not going to release anything by Alan Silvestri. It’s rather Intrada’s, LLL’s or Varèse's territory, even though they issued in the past OVERBOARD. I’d personally rather think that the ‘cop’ clue would hint at French movies starring Alain Delon or Jean-Paul Belmondo since MBR has done a lot of these already.

Since MBR-100 was Delerue's La Cinéscénie du Puy du Fou, to be fair to the other composers, I am hoping MBR would pick the work of another composer for their 200th release.

I guess there will be a Georges Delerue title in the batch. A Delerue title has been mentioned to fit the "Knight" clue. As for the "Boat" clue, Delerue wrote the music for the mini series Les cousins de la Constance. Though there might not be enough music to fill two discs.

Cops and boats, hmm...

"Who's the best cop now?"

A possible companion to Lai’s LE PETIT POUCET could be this other tale called UN BON PETIT DIABLE (83), also never released on CD :

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086503/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/4387617-Jean-Claude-Brialy-Un-Bon-Petit-Diable
https://www.soundtrackcollector.com/title/35931/Un+Bon+Petit+Diable

But of course it might very well concern totally different tales, not even scored by Francis Lai. A composer like Delerue has probably scored movies that can be regarded as tales as well. Regarding another clue and Delerue’s TV series LES COMPAGNONS DE LA CONSTANCE suggested by MI6, why not but mind that the story is set on a barge and not exactly on a boat.

Music Box reissued some titles

Maybe next monday titles could be reissues of the first two volumes Les B.O. Introuvables, quite rare now and at steep prices.

Clearly it's Fantasy Knight Cop on a Boat: The Tetralogy, though I understand if some have misgivings of FKCOAB 2. It clearly is the weakest of the series.

    Claude Bolling smells like MusicBox...yes.
But is there a cop in the movieswink?

I actually thought each hint was specific for each double CD or am I wrong ? Regarding the 'fairytale' one, I wonder if it could be Francis Lai's LE PETIT POUCET (in English TOM THUMB, based upon Charles Perrault's classic tale). This said, there was only a 31' long LP at the time of the theatrical release, so it certainly wouldn't fit alone a double CD :

    https://www.discogs.com/master/687218-Francis-Lai-Le-Petit-Poucet-Bande-Originale-Du-Film

LE PETIT POUCET was reissued digitally by PlayTime in 2018. I doubt MBR would release that when PlayTime has the rights.

You're definitely right, James. For some reason, I overlooked this digital release. So we can forget about this title. Thanks for the correction.
    Has anyone other suggestions ?

Is Giulietta Degli Spiriti the "fantasy" score?

MBR released quite a few titles from the Fellini/Rota collaboration in the past few years. Il Casanova di Federico Fellini is a 2-cd set.

    From Facebook:
As the year-end is approaching, it's time to conclude our 10th anniversary and release our 200th CD since 2011. On Monday, October 25, we will announce our last 2021 batch with four 2-CD sets. Let the countdown begin!

    And as I understand, here's tags-hints:
    #knight #fantasy #cop #boat

That would be a very good guess! It was my first wish when I saw this thread but didn't realise until your comment that this is considered a fantasy film. It would be great!

The boat, how about ‘Death on the Nile’. Yes. I appreciate not enough for 2CD’s but more European than American in line with Music Box titles and it is a Rota title.

Errr, to be honest I'd prefer if Music Box didn't, because for UK fans like me Music Box requires a massive minimum order to do business with you, or they won't take your order.

I understand why, and I don't blame them (it's not their fault, it's Brexit), but it means purchasing from them is a big problem for UK buyers.

If they released something like that, I'd have to order ten copies to get one!

I actually need all four titles to be must-haves (and even then I'd probably have to order two of each to cross the minimum purchase limit), or none of them to be!

It's a real pity because I love Music Box, but I'm now always hoping they don't release anything I want!

    Cheers

I hear you. Ironically, I have the same problem, just from the other side of the fence. Varèse Sarabande International, for example, is just super-expensive to order anything from them. The price of a CD is easily tripled. It's cheaper to import something from the US now than from the UK. Strange world. Music Box, on the other hand, is a breeze for me, as there are no customs and postage is comparatively cheap.

I take the view that because the British people were 'had' (lied to) by the false promises of Brexit, I have no compunction in having my Music Box purchases sent to friends in the EU, who then send them on to me with the word 'gift' on the customs declaration. No duty is charged for items valued below £39.

It could be worse... here in Brazil our local currency devaluated more than 50% in relation to the USD on the last 2 years and we have to pay 60% taxes on imported CDs over the price of the CD AND also over the cost of the shipping.

It has became incredibly expensive to buy CDs here.

I just remembered that there is also US movie called COP (1988) starring James Woods with music composed by Michel Colombier.

It would be nice to have this one on CD with some other Michel Colombier´s crime/thrillers scores like New Jack City or Deep Cover.

Both would probably fit on a single CD? So not very likely.

Yes, my feeling is that those releases will be either 1) Nino Rota, 2) TV scores or 3) expansion of a score that is already +60 minutes long on CD.

Maybe ' boat' is raise the Titanic with found tapes.

It would be cheaper to lower the Atlantic Ocean.
