It would be inappropriate for me to talk about James Newton Howard’s score to – “Peter Pan” – here – but since it has been mentioned…
PLEASE MAKE IT A REALITY!
I love that score… for me – it is probably James Newton Howard’s best score! (Besides – “Waterworld” – )

In regards to “Dante’s Peak” – it was a no brainer… ORDERED INSTANTLY!

All we need now – to complete this set – is the first two James Bond scores to be released in their complete form – (eg. #2 CD Sets) – which star Pierce Brosnan as 007... (yes?)

Who produced, assembled, edited, and mixed this new edition?

Or does each track just contain one cue with no edits, and an existing stereo mix from 1997 was used?

The booklet has a "mastered by" credit (Chas Ferry), "Executive Producer" credit (Cary Mansfield and Neil S. Bulk), and "Associate Producer" credit (Mike Matessino), but no main producer, assembler, editor, or mixer credit.

I did the editing and assembly We used stereo 1/2" analog tapes. We had DATs available with the same content, but I realized the analog tapes were truly analog with an extended frequency response. The scoring mixer was Dennis Sands, who was also the scoring mixer on Volcano.

The original album (disc 2, tracks 13-22) uses the original digital master.

Thanks, that makes sense!

This is the first time I recall having the "editing" and "assembly" credits being unlisted, and handled by an "executive" producer!

Has anyone actually received this yet? Or gotten a shipping notice at least?

Yep, both arrived from the Intl store yesterday.

Listened to Love Field last night and what a charming score it is.
Dante's Peak either tonight or over the weekend.

I received Dante's Peak yesterday from the int'l store. It sounds really good.

The CD data is really good too, listing the separate composers for each track.

Just out of curiousity I gave the original album a spin in what's probably the first time in 20 years. Turns out it's not quite as insipid as my first impression had led me to believe. Now don't get me wrong, it's no long lost magnum opus, but it's got a lot more going for it than, let's say, Debney's nothingburgers End of Days or The Relic from the same year.

I find it enjoyable. I think it's just missing that cool hook to drag you in more.

Anyone else notice that James Newton Howards main theme echoes more than a bit of Goldsmith's Illia's theme from ST-TMP?

I just noticed, the end titles are not included in this release. Which is extremely annoying, to say the least. I really want to know what the reason for this is.

Nothing was composed for the end titles. They're tracked with "Swinging Rope", the "Main Title," and "Terry In The Crater."

When I first got the OST I thought the end credits was a composed cue because the middle part of it sounded 'new', but it was actually merely because they used the film version of the main titles.

It was when I saw it not included on this set that I knew it had to be tracked, and had a go at recreating it, and as Neil said, it's just those three cues, with two microedits in the last one.

Personally I think the spooky main titles would've worked better as an opening to the end credits (the 'Swinging...' cue always struck me as an odd opener), perhaps with the microedits restored helping to match the required length.

Both the Film version and Alternate version of 'The Rescue' are credited to John Frizzell and James Newton Howard while the album version is credited to John Frizzell only. Is this correct?

This one surprised me. Not usually into Frizzell's work and I'm wary of multiple composers chipping in, but overall this score is very entertaining. I recently watched the movie, hadn't seen it in years. Pretty exciting and the music helps a lot!
