Is this actually the very last RAMBO film? I thought I read somewhere that Stallone would do another one if LAST BLOOD did well... ' Even more Laster blood' ! I think Stallone is lying to cover up the fact that Rambo dies in this one. The end of the first trailer shows that John has some seriously fatal looking wounds.

Surprised how much I am looking forward to this film and Tyler’s score. Bring it. Indeed, there is exactly one month left !

Did he use "some" Goldsmith themes in the last film, or just one (the "It's a Long Road" main theme)? But I had the pleasure of speaking with Brian Tyler recently on the occasion of this new Goldsmith-related project and, while I don't want to spoil anything about the upcoming Odyssey Interviews episode, I think that people here will be pleased... The latest trailer show some flashbacks to Rambo's younger days and adventures, so I'm surprised that Goldsmith's main theme isn't used in this final trailer. Icon main themes like the one Goldsmith composed for Rambo films are perfect for recall. I hope Tyler once again uses some Goldsmith themes like he did in the last Rambo film. That would have no resonance with young audiences today who werent around when the original trilogy came out.Makes no sense to use that in the advertising.

This movie is shaping up very well indeed. Its refreshing that in this era of turning mens action franchises into feminist propaganda, that Stallone is keeping Rambo a woke free zone. Hope hes learned his lesson from Expendables 3 though and that this movie has hard R violence and bloodshed.

Wow that last track at the end of the interview got me excited. Tyler knows Goldsmith. Gonna be a killer score... when is the release date of the soundtrack? Tyler‘ s scores still sound to me like a version of a cover band.

Wow that last track at the end of the interview got me excited. Tyler knows Goldsmith. Gonna be a killer score... when is the release date of the soundtrack? Tyler‘ s scores still sound to me like a version of a cover band. Agree. And to the point that he knows Goldsmith (from the previous post, not yours), not really. Jerry derived motion and kinetic activity through ostinati but assigned them to things other than strings and most certainly not thumping percussion like a drum kit. In First Blood, there's also a a fair bit of that going on throughout the orchestra (evocative of Stravinsky's technique applied in his earlier ballets) where different instrument choirs take hold of his asymmetrical rhythmic phrases. Listening to the last cue of Tyler's score, I hear most of the rhythmic elements coming from drums (perc), low strings while everyone else plays half notes or whole notes around it. Seems very static in truth. Not a dis, just a music observation and a correction to the point about Tyler knowing Goldsmith, because this score is a far cry from First Blood or even Rambo First Blood Pt 2.
