MacArthur isn't controlled by Varese but Universal Music (Varese only licensed it as they did other MCA titles). So we can look to either LLL or Intrada to provide us with a definitive edition of that score. smile

On the other hand it's unsure whether Varese acquired perpetuity rights on Raggedy Man, though it seems they may not have bothered as it was a limited Club title.

I’m a bit sad to see the Encore series go. My only guesses for this Friday are more from my wishlist than anything...
SWAMP THING Harry Manfredini
GHOST STORY Philippe Sarde (our final Encore)

Wow, where were the clues?

... or is everyone just guessing wildly?

Never any clues, just lots of guessing.

I predict Townson will try to make Yavar happy with some olde tyme TV scores by Goldsmith from the PABST BLUE RIBBON PLAYHOUSE, SCHLITZ THEATER, and THE BLATZ HOUR. Nobody remembers them because they blacked out after watching them.

I just hope that Mouse Hunt: DE is finally made real.

Man, I wish that the LP to CD Club would have stuck around another year. I would have liked to hear some of those.

Since that series ended, Varese has still premiered some LP titles of theirs on CD (such as Firestarter by Gary Chang and Revenge of the Ninja by Rob Walsh). And Intrada premiered their LP album of Silent Running on CD...

Not trying to sound quirky, but that's 'Firewalker' smile

Would be nice to get Brad Fiedel's 'Nowhere To Hide' someday

Thanks for the correction — I misremembered the title!

Last Child: I want nothing more (or less) from Varese than expanding all of the Goldsmith titles they control in perpetuity. And while I would instantly purchase say a third volume of Jerry’s fine Thriller work, I wouldn’t nag for say a full album of his Climax work. wink

I was mainly having fun spoofing the sponsor-names of old anthology shows. wink

I got it. It is pretty funny at times. Right now I'm listening to Jerry's earliest radio scores from the year 1954: three episodes of the semi-biopic show, Hallmark Hall of Fame. It's peppered throughout with funny (sometimes awkward) old commercials for Hallmark cards. smile

Some of his radio music is my favorite, later re-used on Twilight Zone. Unfortunately only preserved on those poor TransWorld Records (which I mentioned to Ron B. who bought them).

But Alex North’s Cleopatra still available at Varese...

This one could certainly use an 18 years-later remastering.

As could Newman’s Song of Bernadette, though I doubt we’ll see either sadly.

That's a fantastic idea. Because, after the Godzilla Perfect Collection edition, and the Futureland (TYCY-5348) version, I would absolutely go for a Varese edition (along with a second copy for a "friend").
