Gee, I'm really looking forward to this boy! To tide me over I'm currently listening to this one:

Bit of a mix of studio and (primarily) live recordings from 1968-1973.

Guaraldi's "Oh Good Grief!" (with Snoopy with the mustache on the cover) isn't bad either!

I'm gonna say this - this is moving faster than Two for the Road - that sold out in one week. I wouldn't wait too long on this one.

When my grandfather gave me his old cassette tape recorder when I was probably nine years old, one of the very first things I did was record the music from this movie off the television, and it's been ingrained in my head ever since. It will be strange to hear it without the sound of me bouncing the condenser mic off the television, and without my dad's occasional coughing!

Bruce is right guys. I'm snatching this up quick because it'll hurt if I miss it.

How beautiful it would be to see other Peanuts expansions down the line.

Just bought it, by the way. Nice to have it at the right speed (recorded it off TV years ago at the wrong speed.)

An aside - John Wayne at Fox has sold out while David And Bathsheba has not???

John Wayne + Elmer Bernstein + Westerns + Hugo Montenegro + fun songs? Makes sense to me!

This looks great, but I'm still waiting for a COMPLETE CD two-fer that
features IT's THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN & A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING.

Perhaps someday?:-)

If this does as well as it appears to be doing, anything is possible.

Thanks Bruce! If it can be done, I know that you would make it happen:-)

Thanks to youtube - one of the best jazz/blues score I ever heard! Even kid songs (I was affraid about them) couldn't spoil it, 'cause they are really nice and fun.

Thanks a lot, Bruce!!!

Yeah, that does make sense, although, I did say something similar at the time. David And Bathsheba is a Newman scored biblical epic raised from the stereo dead in a heretofore unprecedented manner. I think it made waves at the time of initial release, and shrouded as it is with numerous Kritzerland releases since, it might have receded from prominence a tad. I thought it would go just as fast as The Day The Earth Stood Still.

As someone who absolutely hates the peanuts and all its side characters, the samples make me want to buy this CD. There's one hesitation however: how many songs does this set contain? I see "Music and LYRICS by Rod McKuen" and I don't want to hear any peanut's voice ruining a good track.

D.S.

So many things about this comment bother me.

Huh, what? Hating the Peanuts is bothersome? I don't want to derail this thread otherwise I would have downright shocked you with other Peanut-like "entertainment" I can't stand. But, as said, I won't because this is Kritzerland's time to shine and I want them to receive the compliments for their work. Besides, why focus on the bothersome and not answer the question of the part in my response where I said that I really like the music?

To answer Disco Stu's question, 5 of the tracks contain vocals. Probably about 12 minutes out of what I believe is about 65 minutes of music. So, it's not an overabundance of vocal tracks - and for me, it's great that the album includes both; the songs really were an essential part of the movie.

Note that 2 of those vocal tracks are performed by McKuen himself, not by the kids, so you might not find them objectionable. You can hear him singing them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JcsDVsCIw8

I hope the album sells well!

Thanks very much smcguire, very helpful information that clinches it for me. 20% is still an undesirable ratio but I think I wager a bet and get me a copy.

D.S.

I don't think it was Bruce or any of the other labels, which means it's classed as rumour, so I wouldn't worry just yet.

I doubt Bruce has even checked for those tapes yet.

You're free to hate what you hate - I'm more troubled by the idea that you apparently refer to each individual character in the series as a "peanut." If that's the way you understand this comic strip, I'm not surprised that you hate it.
