So, having had a proper look at it now I'm back at a desktop computer, am I right in thinking that if vinyl is the only option, you have to subscribe to the whole year's releases to get it?

This 'release' antagonizes the hell out of me!! I started a petition for a CD soundtrack release for it 10 years ago which ended up getting signed by over 600 people. And this garbage is what we've ended up with. Someone release this on CD properly so that people don't have to go out a buy a damn record player to enjoy it. This is one of my last holy grails in film music and the company thought they'd be clever and release it in an old fashioned and outdated format that the majority don't want. It's clear that a huge amount of film music fans want this released on CD as the amount of requests have been enormous over the years. Well done for giving it to us on a format that we can't play. Morons. I don't know how this even got a release anyway, as people have been trying for the last 30 year to no avail. When I asked George Romero about it he didn't even know who owned it, but said that Laurel Productions who owned the rights had been sold the year before by his business partner. This is pointless and it's not even a valid release. I'm not buying a record player for it and it's my most requested score of all time. I'm genuinely trying to understand you here, so please don't take this comment as an attack, but if it's your holy grail soundtrack is it not worth picking up a cheaper turntable and plugging it in to your home cinema system or something? I bought a turntable a few months ago from a thrift store, for £20, and rigged it that way. Some of the albums I've bought on Vinyl sound fantastic. I'm just thinking that yes, this Waxwork release isn't a CD, but you might find that if you picked it up you'd at least get to hear this brilliant score. And it's not like the sound is going to be awful. It might even be excellent. Would you buy it if the album came with a digital download? Like I say, I'm really just trying to understand, and appreciate how much you love this score and the effort you've put it to getting it on CD. Perhaps Waxwork are more likely to sell copies of a Vinyl than a CD, since the former is so collectable. So it might make more business sense to release these albums on Vinyl. Just a thought...I don't know this for a fact!

In the meantime, I'm enjoying listening to the album as an isolated channel on the excellent new Bluray edition. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!?

Holy shit. I haven't seen anything about this. What is it, like a audio track on the film or is it hidden somewhere? I was gonna skip this release since between the old Anchor Bay DVD and the 88 Films blu-ray, I have pretty much everything on it, but now... FUCK. This next month is gonna be intense on my bank account.

So we're clear fellas, this is CHUD with iso score & about a 30min. composer interview with the great Michael Felsher. I perused it - after 30mins or so of interview, the iso score begins - it's not in sync to film, like playing an album with TV on caption /mute (hey, MY thing I do!!). After the 45 odd min. score finishes, audio comes back up for the film. I'm glad the theatrical cut is included, if just for the misplaced "diner finale ". Yes it makes no sense being there, but I'm used to the film ending that way from VHS days. Flick is still entertaining as hell - did you guys know Criterion did an April Fools joke once upon a time, that they were doing this title? Glad I missed that one - Arrow did a great job, I'm grateful they are stateside now. -Sean

I wish he'd just let them speak rather than hijacking the whole discussion. (Fright Night is the worst example) He should take a note from Nick Redman on how to moderate a commentary. State of Grace - now there's a commentary.
