For those who want CHUD non-vinyl, the new Bluray features an isolated score and interview with the composers. Just sayin...

Just got that in 2 days ago, and am happy about that feature. So, yes in that case, cool. Maybe the coming Creepshow 2 Blu will have something similar. I just want to hear this stuff without jumping through hoops, or getting all techy ripping things on the pc.

Ps, on CHUD....the theatrical cut is nice to have, but the added lines (even noted by Michael Gingold's liner notes) ain't there. Just sayin'.....

I never need to watch the theatrical cut again. The integral cut is waaay better.

I was SO excited last night after seeing this news I quickly searched for a CREEPSHOW 2 thread (I obviously did it wrong) and started my own. No matter how many different threads there are on this subject I will say the same thing in each. I'm so happy NO MATTER THE FORMAT that it is finally getting a release. Not only a release, but a deluxe treatment release on vinyl from Waxwork Records. I own a few of their records, and they go all out.

This is a massive grail for me since my buddy and I saw the film in the theater. Bravo and thank you so much to everyone involved in this becoming a reality.

If one of our favorite labels decides to take a chance and put it out on CD one day I will gladly purchase a copy. Until then I will wait for this release and enjoy it until then.

So, having had a proper look at it now I'm back at a desktop computer, am I right in thinking that if vinyl is the only option, you have to subscribe to the whole year's releases to get it?

All Waxwork vinyl releases are available to the public per title. They also have a subscription setup featuring exclusive vinyl colors and plenty of other subscriber-only stuff for the year ahead.

Either buy a record player or stop whining. I'm not complaining when some of the stuff that comes out on CD isn't being issued on vinyl.

Shut up idiot. Shall I rush out and buy a record player then so that I can play the great music from this crap release?

This 'release' antagonizes the hell out of me!! I started a petition for a CD soundtrack release for it 10 years ago which ended up getting signed by over 600 people. And this garbage is what we've ended up with. Someone release this on CD properly so that people don't have to go out a buy a damn record player to enjoy it. This is one of my last holy grails in film music and the company thought they'd be clever and release it in an old fashioned and outdated format that the majority don't want. It's clear that a huge amount of film music fans want this released on CD as the amount of requests have been enormous over the years. Well done for giving it to us on a format that we can't play. Morons. I don't know how this even got a release anyway, as people have been trying for the last 30 year to no avail. When I asked George Romero about it he didn't even know who owned it, but said that Laurel Productions who owned the rights had been sold the year before by his business partner. This is pointless and it's not even a valid release. I'm not buying a record player for it and it's my most requested score of all time.

I'm genuinely trying to understand you here, so please don't take this comment as an attack, but if it's your holy grail soundtrack is it not worth picking up a cheaper turntable and plugging it in to your home cinema system or something? I bought a turntable a few months ago from a thrift store, for £20, and rigged it that way. Some of the albums I've bought on Vinyl sound fantastic.

I'm just thinking that yes, this Waxwork release isn't a CD, but you might find that if you picked it up you'd at least get to hear this brilliant score. And it's not like the sound is going to be awful. It might even be excellent. Would you buy it if the album came with a digital download?

Like I say, I'm really just trying to understand, and appreciate how much you love this score and the effort you've put it to getting it on CD. Perhaps Waxwork are more likely to sell copies of a Vinyl than a CD, since the former is so collectable. So it might make more business sense to release these albums on Vinyl. Just a thought...I don't know this for a fact!

I stand by my earlier point that they may not have licensed this properly and why not one of our soundtrack label friends has put it on CD. The owner of the New World catalog wants to sell it, not exploit it via licenses.

You need to chill out.
The fact that any label has put this on vinyl only increases the chances of this getting a CD or digital release eventually. It will happen. You've waited this long, so another year or so isn't a big deal. Calling people "morons" isn't going to win you any favors. You might not like it, but vinyl is more popular and prosperous than ever and these people need to make their money back.
I'm not buying the vinyl either, I'm sure it'll come out in another format eventually.
In the meantime, I'm enjoying listening to the album as an isolated channel on the excellent new Bluray edition. I'll be ripping it and making my own digital copy until a CD drops.

Haha, yep.

Pick it up! There is an audio channel that features an interview with the composers followed by the score. It sounds incredible. Pretty sure some of this was reused in sections of Return of the Living Dead.

Holy shit. I haven't seen anything about this. What is it, like a audio track on the film or is it hidden somewhere? I was gonna skip this release since between the old Anchor Bay DVD and the 88 Films blu-ray, I have pretty much everything on it, but now...

FUCK. This next month is gonna be intense on my bank account.

It's a 2-disc set from Arrow video. Disc one has the original cut before it was picked up for distribution. This newly discovered version is in my opinion far superior to the theatrical cut we've been watching all these years.
The isolated score is on the second or third audio channel, like a commentary.

So we're clear fellas, this is CHUD with iso score & about a 30min. composer interview with the great Michael Felsher.
I perused it - after 30mins or so of interview, the iso score begins - it's not in sync to film, like playing an album with TV on caption /mute (hey, MY thing I do!!). After the 45 odd min. score finishes, audio comes back up for the film.
I'm glad the theatrical cut is included, if just for the misplaced "diner finale ". Yes it makes no sense being there, but I'm used to the film ending that way from VHS days. Flick is still entertaining as hell - did you guys know Criterion did an April Fools joke once upon a time, that they were doing this title? Glad I missed that one - Arrow did a great job, I'm grateful they are stateside now.

Aha, I was afraid of that! !
I do have the new upcoming Blu of Creepshow 2
on order, but it looks like no music features. Appears to be limited, 3000 I think.
Grrr....

Yeah it's a great disc, but Felsher is always so obnoxious on those commentaries. I wish he'd just let them speak rather than hijacking the whole discussion. (Fright Night is the worst example)
He should take a note from Nick Redman on how to moderate a commentary. State of Grace - now there's a commentary.
