Got mine. I am wondering about the actual material of this re-pressing. The CDs themselves have something of a slightly gold finish (coat). Usually CDs are just silver. It's not as gold as a SACD pressing or a Blu-Ray, but it has some gold in it, wondering why that is.
Another thing is the paper. Very thick and smooth. Noticeable is the back inlay/back insert to me. The spines are NOT perforated and the title "The Rocketeer" on each spine is printed slightly differently, there are small variations in color, position and resolution.
Anyone else noticed this? Probably a new pressing plant?
Well my CD1 doesn't rip properly. I had to use a matching track from disc 2. Not saying the coloured disc is a fault in the manufacture but... maybe it is.
Not sure about the tray cards, but those discs came from two different manufacturers. The one on the left came from Discmakers, a smaller outfit in New Jersey. It's not gold, it's silver alloy with a different hue.

That‘s something that happens to me from time to time as well. Last time was with the Disney The Lion King Legacy Edition, my computer CD drive just refused to read it. V for Vendetta and Batman Begins always make trouble as well or just take ages until my drive recognizes them. But they work fine in my regular Hi-Fi CD player.
I noticed this with "The River" too. The discs are also manufactured at Discmakers. (Although I don't see much of the gold hue) And the booklet/inlay is the same slightly thicker paper. It definitely has a different aesthetic to previous Intrada booklets I have. Kind of like it..... absorbs the ink differently? Is that a daft thing to say? Also the same with the non perforated spines. I spotted that because mine hadn't folded quite along the correct line. But show me a record label who that's never happened to!
It's easy to talk about this sort of thing and have it sound like a complaint, which it really isn't. I just find this stuff oddly compelling. I just read back the first paragraph and it might put folks to sleep
And hey.... in these weird times, better a different looking release than no release at all! Hats off to Intrada and the pressing plants. They keep them coming and our little corner of the world is all the better for it.
Mine shipped yesterday. Looking forward to hearing the score and for good measure my brand new with slipcover copy of the blu ray arrived yesterday courtesy of eBay, which, thanks to some voucher built in to the listing that I actioned, cost me precisely zero!

Who was offering the movie with a slipcover?! The Disney release didn't have one.
I was thinking of getting THE ROCKETEER and CHINATOWN-----but CHINATOWN is sold out AGAIN.
Trying to order a batch of soundtracks has turned into game of chess! Or worse yet Russian Roulette when one of the tiles you wanted suddenly goes OOP.
