Yeah, that would certainly be helpful to know. For what it's worth, the very best cues in Looney Tunes: Back in Action are the western action cues for Yosemite Sam. There was another person on this board a few years back who was just getting into Goldsmith and exploring who declared she didn't like western scores... she changed her mind after exploring a few of Goldsmith's (and some other composers). I think it's a more varied subgenre of film music than you realize, and if you like Goldsmith's voice his westerns are full of it. Yavar

I mean they've done definitive editions of Galaxy Quest, The Phantom, Hoffa, and The Sandlot... so I'd surmise it's not outside the realm of possibility. I share your hopes that they do more David Newman, though. Great composer. Yavar

I own his five "Star Trek"-scores, "The Mummy", "Link", "Mulan", "Alien". Isn't much, I know, but I'm not a complete collector, never was, never will.

Oops! Sorry. Good point. I own his five "Star Trek"-scores, "The Mummy", "Link", "Mulan", "Alien". Isn't much, I know, but I'm not a complete collector, never was, never will. Never thought I would be either, when I was just getting into his stuff. Okay, so also important: do you LIKE all of the above? Or for example are you someone who dislikes Link, in which case I should avoid recommending other similarly wacky scores? Based on this list I'd say that The 13th Warrior, The Wind and the Lion, and First Knight are pretty safe recommendations that should be easy to acquire (the latter two in complete form). If you like the more modernist/experimental parts of Alien, try Planet of the Apes. If you like the other parts of Alien, maybe try Poltergeist, which also has a lot of connections to Star Trek: The Motion Picture? I would also give a very strong recommendation that you pick up Intrada's recent 4 CD set of Masada: https://store.intrada.com/s.nl/it.A/id.12349/.f Yavar

I’m not an overly huge fan of Goldsmith, but I would definitely recommend Secret of NIMH as CindyLover suggested and Legend, as well as Wind and the Lion.

I own his five "Star Trek"-scores, "The Mummy", "Link", "Mulan", "Alien". Isn't much, I know, but I'm not a complete collector, never was, never will. I see here a liking (if you do) of scores with 'atmosphere', a bit of mystery and you're not opposed to melody and some lavish orchestration. Because of Treks I and V and Mulan, I recommend Legend, if it's available. Maybe highly, even. https://www.musicbox-records.com/en/cd-soundtracks/11031-legend.html Because of all of them, I recommend Twilight Zone: The Movie. Highly, definitely. https://filmscoremonthly.com/cds/detail.cfm/CDID/422/Twilight-Zone-The-Movie/ Because of The Mummy & Mulan I recommend Total Recall. https://quartetrecords.com/product/total-recall-30th-anniversary-edition-2-cd/ Because of ALIEN and Star Trek I, V, F.Contact & Insurrection, I recommend Basic Instinct. https://quartetrecords.com/product/basic-instinct-2-cd/ Because of ALIEN and ST:Nemesis, I recommend Outland, if you can find it for a decent price. The original GNP/Crescendo where it's paired with Capricorn One, both incomplete, but you're sort of sampling(?) is worth the currently reasonable used prices if you can't find the expansion(s). https://www.discogs.com/release/1339988-Jerry-Goldsmith-Outland-Capricorn-One None of these are replications of the scores you own which inspired my suggestions, just close cousins, as are the Trek scores with each other, that much similar, and that much different.

Thanks for the suggestions. There are a lot of, I can't remember until now. "Outland" was a good movie as far as I can recall and some others. I'll try to find some scores for a good price. @ Yavar: All Goldsmith-scores I own I like them very much, "Link" in particular. It is a good movie and having watched it for the first time 15 years ago I was hooked for the Synthie-score.

Two questions 1. Will you reveal April titles via a Facebook flyer image this Friday (April 1), or nah? 2. What is your best guess on when LLLCD 1489 and LLLCD 1577 will release? -J

Wonder if this is the only April batch… Isn't 3 titles in one month enough? MV
