We just put this on for the I don't know how many times now and it still is one of the best remastered scores we've ever heard. Really great stuff. Hope everyone is grabbing this baby.

Just as fascinating as the restoration of this amazing score is Jim Titus' restoration and design of the packaging for this landmark release.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, or cared razz , but I love that for the Archer CD , LLL mimicked the font used on the 1970s Bantam reissues of the Ross MacDonald Archer paperbacks.

That was a tremendously cool touch . Thanks big grin

I had it in my basket yesterday with Planet of the Apes, then when I checked out I got the dreaded message, it had gone out of stock again...

Anyone else still really digging Jerry's Archer pilot score? Or has LLL's subsequent release of Jerry's even catchier Barnaby Jones pilot score overshadowed this fine release?

I just received a brand new factory sealed copy of SUPERMAN 40TH from ebay! It was $20 more than the suggested retail price, but I couldn't wait for it to be restocked.smile

Yeah I know, it wasn't the wisest thing to do. Now I just need the new HARRY POTTER set, which I will wait to be restocked since that one is way too expensive. But once I get that one I will have every John Williams cd!

Good to see it selling very well.
Considering the feedbacks here before its release, the overall feeling, was that as a widely available title with 2 expanded former releases and with the original LP album CD in print, the interest wouldn't be that much.

With the 3rd run in the line, is safe to say it's at least the top 5 La-La Land's all time best selling?

Williams wrote an eight- and five-note motif for Krypton (the latter represented mystery, suspense, danger and was also used as a motif for kryptonite). I wonder if this five-note motif was one of the hundreds of such motifs he composed and didn't use for CLOSE ENCOUNTERS?
