Looks cute. love the Bat jokes. I can see it being entertaining for 30 minutes or so... Not sure about 90 though. I can't tell, is that stop motion or CGI?.

Supposedly CGI made to look like stop motion. It's impressive either way.

I love the idea of this movie, but I'm not sure such 'full-on' humour will work over ninety minutes. Looks great though.

It's both. I read that the director wanted to make sue you couldn't tell when it wasn't stop motion. It's the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs guys, so I'm optimistic.

Cool, I prefer stop motion over CGI.

CD coming from Watertower, but it's currently listed as by "Various artists," so who knows to what extent Mothersbaugh's score will be represented: http://www.amazon.com/Lego®-Movie-Original-Picture-Soundtrack/dp/B00H5VN6GC/

Here's hoping it's got a good chunk of score on it!

I was alerted to this tonight. My first reaction was... wut. Srsly, wat?

Although, it's being done by the directors of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (haven't seen) and 21 Jump Street (have seen), so, it could be good.

Also, dat DJ House Remix of Take On Me.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1490017/

Hopefully Watertower will issue a CD when the time comes.

...considering the almost complete lack of Mothersbaugh's scores on CD, I won't be holding my breath for one. I'd like one but i doubt it will get a release (Last Vegas however was a pleasant surprise to see released!)

Music heard in the official site:

It's really catchy, i love the uniqueness of it, usual Mothersbaugh style. Look forward to the rest of the score

If I had to guess, I'd say the website track is "Emmett's Morning." Looks like a very healthy chunk of score, though the average moviegoer will probably be very disappointed that the trailer music isn't on there (I can read the irate Amazon reviews now!).

The style, it does remind me of Wreck-it ralph theme where Henry Jackman uses the 8 bit music for the theme.

Not to burst your bubble, but it's not that unique at all. I've heard very similar music from many video games.
Not say it's BAD mind you/

Well, I also acknowledge the fact that wreck it Ralph theme is based on over-familiar 8 bit sound, which is unique considering its application in MOVIES. what I meant to be unique is because of that and also I believe some creative decision in picking the instrument/sound (some thousands of sound samples and you just dont blind-folded-ly picked whatever there are to create some cohesive piece of music)

And, as it happens, Mothersbaugh himself is an experienced video game composer and has written many such scores: http://vgmdb.net/artist/1667

I have always felt that such a "gamey" way of scoring was perfectly suited to film, and I'm glad Mothersbaugh and Jackman are introducing it to a wider audience big grin

Wow, that tracklist is a pleasant surprise (in that it's almost entirely score, rather than a bunch of songs). Unlike some here I don't have anything against pop songs in movie soundtracks, but of course they can usually be gotten elsewhere, and when a soundtrack CD is crammed with them it's generally at the expense of the score. It appears here, though, as though Mothersbaugh's fans will for once get a very healthy representation of one of his scores (perhaps even all of it?) on the album.

As for the movie, I'm really looking forward to it - this is my first "must-see" movie of the year, actually. When it comes to LEGO anything I'm basically a five-year-old, I freely admit...
