Just revisited this film tonight, for the first time in probably close to twenty years, and was glad to see I still enjoyed it after all this time. The score is a delight. I'm not familiar with Stanley Myers, but I'd definitely buy this music.
I was struck by the familiarity of this music, though. Like I said, I haven't seen the film since I was probably 14 years old, so I don't think I'm just remembering it from then. The music just seemed immediately familiar. Perhaps it's been used in some trailers over the years.
I just came across the film and its score again last night and I was wondering if anyone knows what the chances are that this score finally gets a release? LLL, Intrada, Kritzerland maybe?
While I appreciate all the expansions that have been issued of many great scores recently, this score is one of my HOLY grails.
From what I know, the score is very short. I've never seen the film, so correct me if I'm wrong. I love what I've heard. Stanley Myers wrote a lot of wonderful film music that has never seen any kind of release. There are several great Myers soundtrack lps that have never been released on cd: Ulysses, No Way To Treat a Lady, Otley, Take a Girl Like You, The Raging Moon, Prick Up Your Ears, etc.

I think the amount of score is in the film is pretty average. It can justify an album perfectly well, even if is a short one.
Haven't seen this movie in over 25 years but I gave it **** out 4 in the theater and still have very fond memories. Need to rewatch now that I have kids. Movie's an under appreciated classic. RIP Nic Roeg
A wonderful but short score. There are plenty of Myers scores this could be paired with. The Boost--also short--features a catchy theme and John Williams on guitar.
Then there are the lps that never made it to cd: No Way To Treat a Lady, Ulysses, Otley, Take a Girl Like You, The Raging Moon, Prick Up Your Ears.
There is a 2 CD-R of sessions that appeared this year, so I assume there was score dropped and probably some alternates to be had. I say this not to promote a boot, but rather that apparently there are tapes out there as this new edition has surfaced, and that there might be more score.
I'm listening to it now. Great sound. I love Myers. I owned and still own the reel-to-reel that was released for No Way to Treat a Lady - and it is one of the best-sounding reel-to-reels ever released.
